Found a previously unknown stash of coilpacks in the boxes-O-shit that came with the car.
So I thought I would take a pic of my collection.
I still have a full set of everything in the car too.

In other news, I am completely out of ideas re miss.
As soon as it hits full boost it drops a cylinder.
All plugs new (and re-gapped), all coilpacks cleaned and changed 1 at a time,
coil driver changed 3 times (in isolation), CAS changed, injector cleaner and fresh tank of BP Ultimate.
Problem still there.
Have I got a dud injector that gives up under a bit of pressure?
Once again car close to "For Sale" sign.

is it intermittent? or every time it hits boost? i mean the easiest way to test is find some one with the same car and swap parts slowly.. ie afm, lignitor, tps, the list goes on haha

check if all your mass/ground/earth wires are all connected or make an extra one. i had the same problem on my skyline and i had a cracked mass wire, after searching and swapping parts for days i ended up replacing that wire and everything was fine again

well i hope it works as good for you as it did for me! for me it was in the piece of loom that goes inbetween the coilpacks, so it took me quite a while to find it..

Okay, plugs changed to BPR6ESs, new fuel filter, checked all earths (3) all good, gave all the injector plugs a wiggle, checked injector loom plug.
Still have the problem. Miss on boost.
Next port of call, I will get my spare set of injectors reco'd and do a swap.

I give up.
Car booked in for fix and tune on Friday.
See what we can get with a serious tune in it.

Dropped the car off at SAS this morning to fix the miss and get a tune.
The first thing they wanted to do was fit $550.00 worth of Eboost.
Before they even looked at the car. I was still filling out the paperwork.
I can pretty much guess what the problem is going to be.
I think I might forgo the tune.
People say they are good but they are not filling me with confidence.
I get the feeling you get better service the more you spend.

The last time I was there I asked about a tune and was quoted $1200 for a chip and tune.
I said I already had the chip done by SAS and would just need the tune.
Answer? $1200 chip and tune.
Me-I already paid $350 for you to do the chip right?
So the tune part should be $1200 - $350 = $850 right?
Them- "$1200 chip and tune."

So getting your chip done must be free if you are getting it tuned at the same time.

Dunno what a new boost controller is going to bring to the table...did you tell them you don't want it?

Convo went like this.

I asked if they knew how to use a Turbotech boost controller.
He said "it's just a boost bleed right?
I said no and explained how they work. (ball/ spring etc)
He pulled a face and said he would only use an Eboost.
I said how much?
He said $550/$560 something.
I said no, too expensive.
He gave me the "you'll be sorry" face and said "well that's up to you but I wouldn't use anything else."

Right from there I thought hmmmm/sinking feeling.

BTW did you end up testing the resistance of each coilpack?

No.
Have multimeter, only know how to check for circuit/short.

Check resistance of each coilpack, see if they are all the same

hi,
sorry to hear about that engine problem, I really think you should consider fixing it rather than giving up.
have you checked for vaccum leaks on the manifold or around the turbine base?
you should check the piston chamber compression to make sure that your not losing pressure.
lastly is the problem cylinder the same each time the boost kicks in or is it random (any piston) ...... :|

I am picking the car up 1st thing Monday.
I'm just not comfortable with those guys.
Hopefully they haven't touched it yet.

I think I may have fixed it in my head too.
Had a light bulb moment at about 4am this morning.
You may be on the right track with the leak thing Mr Datsun200l.

If that fails I have found a really good shop and tuner to take it to.
