1985 AE86 Corolla SR5 from Texas

Well from the start I found her on craigslist, she was sitting in a field just south of Forth Worth. So a buddy and I head on down to check it out. When we get there shes in the back of a field and running! Took a good look over her and a haggling with the guy who owned the lot I walked away with her for 600 bucks. She made it about a mile down the to the gas station and then she died. She had been sitting for like two years so it was probably bad gas. Trailered her home that night.

came with awesome cookie monster seat covers!

A good tune up and she was on the road! A few weeks later the clutch system went out, replaced that and with the help of a buddy we cut the springs.

Next to come was to replace the banged up fender it came with, celica supra rims, wink mirror, Chaser VTX bumpers, and a badass CB whip.

A little time down the road I got bored and it was time to paint. I call it the bomber theme. >:)

Enjoyed national 8-6 day

Enjoyed drifting

Bought another ae86, a GTS this time. Took the drivetrain and then money got tight so I had to sell it.

Still I walked away with some goodies. I swapped the SR5 rear end for the GTS, still open diff but hey disk brakes!!!

Well one fun night trouble struck

Snapped the hub right off the axle, broke the bracket, and bend the panhard mount too. Well after a parts hunt I bought a LSD rear end assembly and put it in the car. Drove to work the next morning and I got a loud howling, the rear end wasnt set up by the guy I bought it from. Well pulled it all apart, slapped on new bearings and a weir solid pinion spacer. She was all good to go and the LSD felt great! New parts later we are put here

4ac blew up for the last time, I came to the point of if im going to dump money into her its DOHC or home. Then I found a deal and got this

Holley 4 barrel carb with a one off GZE intake manifold. The welds are good and the idea is fantastic in my eyes so why not?

It was really slow at work today, like dead slow so I rolled the old girl in and started to turn wrenches

I rolled her over to our "Make ready" dept and power washed the engine bay. I had no idea my rack n pinion was silver!!

I started to pull off a lot of the little things, have some placed in the bay that are chipping paint and I am going to repaint the whole thing. Make it look a lot cleaner. Still thinking of what color to go with.... more to come on that later. On a sad note as I was removing the coolant hoses to the heater core the driver side 90 snapped right off

Silver lining thought I have been wanted to take out my dash and repair it so now I guess I now have the motivation lol. The other question is do I want to fix the heater core or just removed together????

So I finally got around to ripping the block apart on the bad motor to see what damaged had been done. For whatever reason I found pookie when i took off the oil filter plugging the oil return hole.

with no oil you get things this... piston #3

I took measurements of the block and I can repair it, however it is just a 3rib 4a block and I may find my hands on a 7rib non-squirter block and crank.

The manifold is great. Not everyone wants to pay $1200 for a 4ag carb setup. Keep the updates coming.

how many CFM is that carb, that might be like putting on some Weber/Mikuni 55mm's if they had such a thing. Love the idea tho and i have a GZE manifold that i gasket matched/ported.

I'd love to have a better designed one that wasn't so restrictive like the stock one.

The CFM is like 300 should It should be well enough for a simple 1.6L. Its meant for a duel carb set up on a v8

That I do not know. I bought the carb and intake off a guy on the east coast and he bought an 86 as a parts car and this set up as already in the car. I have yet to find who made it but If you are reading this then please step up and tell me, I love putting credit where its due.

Quick update. I am ditching the Holley carb set up, the intake manifold just isnt build the way I would like it. It sits the carb way too close to the valve covers. Plus I also found this badboy...

Kind of an impulse buy, they are 48mm s&k carbs that came off a Formula Atlantic Series 4age, when all i really need is 40mm. I have a stock 4age with 1.6mm HKS headgasket, port and polish, and a GZE intake cam, so I am now picking up a set of cams that will up the duration to 264 and lift will raise to 8mm. I am hoping that this will improve the volumetric efficiency to keep up with these carbs, I know I will still have to tune them but stock cams feel like they wont flow enough air.

Ok so I need some help, I need to find diagrams for sk racing sidedraft carbs. They are build very closely to Weber's so a Webber diagram should do too. I need to adjust jets and floats and I have no idea what's where. First real carb car I can tune so any help is appreciated.
