I am BRAND NEW to the forum, but have been a Datsun/Nissan guy for years & years.

I just picked up a 1978 Datsun 210 ZX w/ an F.E.D Bodykit from a seller off Craigslist in DFW....

http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash ... 2001_n.jpg

The car is in good shape (minus motor, tranny, drive shaft, & KEYS)

I am looking for more information on the ZX model & the FED body kit option.... I assume it was an aftermarket kit not offered at dealerships, but I am not sure...

http://oldcarjunkie.files.wordpress.com ... 10zx-2.jpg

http://oldcarjunkie.files.wordpress.com ... 10zx-3.jpg

I'd also be intersted in possible engine swap options and/or recommendations.

My plan is to turn this into a full blown road race/track car that will compete in the 24 Hours of LeMons racing events...

Thanks,

yep.. she's a real beauty...

oldcarjunkie.com suggested that I post on this forum in order to try and gather more info on the F.E.D bodykit option.... I personally have NEVER seen another Datsun B210 w/ this bodykit (and there's probably a reason for that)...

This thing had been floating around Craigslist forever,.. and rather see it fall into the hands of a crusher, I decided to save it...

...should be a lot of fun turning this thing into a tribute to vintage 70s Japanese race cars like this one....

Is it unusual that I'd never slap such a kit on a car... But once it was on, I'd never take it off

Nope, still don't know a thing about it. Good luck though 8)

It looks like the little brother of a Kaminari 280ZX.

I will also be selling off many of the interior pieces & glass that I removed for the project.

Let me know if you are looking for any interior pieces, seats, trim, windows, glass, etc...

Thanks,

Eric, I might part with the wheels for the right price... I will eventually be upgrading to larger wheels & tires for the track...

They are old school 14x7 Cragar Aluminum wheels- not sure of the offset... I've tried searching for them online, and cannot find anything on these wheels... but they are very similar to the American Racing Outlaw I wheel & the traditional Centerline wheels.

These wheels will need a very good polishing... and are showing a little rust....

tires are NO good...

FWIW, the current version of these wheels I've seen is -32. Looking at those lips, these have to be in that ballpark. At least. :P

Monumental day for my B210ZX… I was able to track down the cars original builder with the help of the Texas DMV & the Internet… He sent me an email earlier today, and is going to send me some old pics of the “original” 210ZX build. He also offered to help me with any information I needed regarding the car’s history, the body kit option, and any additional details regarding the original build... Apparently he put A LOT of time & custom modifications into the original build. Should be really interesting documenting the original history of this 210ZX,.. and it’s rebirth into a classic racer… 24 Hours of LeMons or not… This is going to be interesting!... Stay Tuned!

I think this car Needs a proper resto. Am I the only one looking at this car epainted in some 80's scheme with some equips or starsharks. The rarity of the body kit and this probably being the last of it kind. It should get a bit more respect cause in the future when people look back this may be the car that some collector would love to have. Just my $.02...

Well, it was for sale on craigslist for two years. It was either this, or watch it slowly turn to dust. :P

I agree with DeRux....this is a great piece of over the top body tuning from that era which usually isn't seen state side. Could have potential as a future significant/memorable vehicle marking that time in jtin tuning circles

That is Bad-ass!

There is definitely some Silhouette inspired design in that thing....

I have a build KA24DE in my garage that would go into it is I owned it.

Very cool find. 8)
