I am new here. I see the Subaru section is a little stagnant. Maybe we can liven it up a bit.
I am a happy subscriber of the JNC mag. It is brilliant, top work guys.
I have a few elderly Subaru, these two are my favorites/pride and joys/most presentable.

Please excuse the crappy quality picture of the Coupe. I havn't had a chance to get anything other than Cellphone pics since fitting the wheels.

I may update this/go into detail on request.

Cool cars indeed! The pickup reminds me of one I saw many years ago outside the local Subaru dealership.Old,beige,worn and torn and on the tailgate written with black magic marker: TURBO :lol:

Yes, more Fuji Heavy representation needed! Excellent cars. Is the BRAT called a Brumby there? Much cooler name, IMO, even though I'm not sure what a brumby is.

Yeah, mine is a fairly early model, the registration simply calls its a 'SUBARU 1800'. I think the Brumby title was more commonly used in Aussie, but is pretty much loosely used by everyone. I call it a multiple of things.
The brumby, brat, ute, uterus, brown sabbath.. Truck sometimes.

But yeah so far both are good little cars. I've had the ute maybe nearing 3 or 4 years now, it was my first car my parents helped me into. I've had a few others since then and I think I've decided to try and stop now I've got these two.
The GSR I picked up maybe 6-8 months ago at a BARGAIN BARGAIN price, And have since been working her back to road legal status. Currently the car owes me maybe around $800nzd. Good cheap motoring I say.
A slight run down. Its a 1973 Subaru 'GSR'
Originally 1400 dualcarb boxer, with 4speed 'front drive' transaxle. Claimed figures of around ~90bhp, supposedly went well according to the few people who know much about them.
Mine has been repowered with (I feel) a slightly lazy 1600 single carb boxer. Guessing maybe 70hp I am unsure. It goes fairly well, but is a little breathless. Its very low geared, 4000rpm at 100km/h (60mph). The tacho redlines at nearly 7000rpm, which I reakon is pretty good for some 70's tech. I havn't dared try the 1600 towards those limits.

I absolutely love the GSR! The front end of the brat looks exactly like my 78 wagon i recently sold. Is that a 78 also?

The ute is an '81, The last year to have that shape for the ute, and first year for the 1800 and high and low range. The ute had done an original 64000km when I got it. Shes just clicked over 100000km a few months ago.

I had the exhaust redone a few months back, orig item was full of kinks, bends etc. Now its a wrx... Kinda. It sounds alright anyway.

The yellow one is full of rust, but has an interesting paint scheme.

The red one is also full of rust, and now pranged up...

a lil off topic but there is a guy near here somewhere that has a replica Pursuit car from the original mad max movie, I have only seen it once though
