Well, some of you might've already known and some that didn't...I have one of the last few Nissan Vans that remain in America!

My question to the JNC world....are there any other Vanette/GC22/Van owners out there?

...or am I all alone?

I missed out on one here in Phoenix about 8 months ago. I was shocked to see it for sale on Craig's.

oh wow! that sucks! Should've swooped it up!

I got into contact with a fellow Nissan Van owner up in Northern California....he said his friend did some research and found that there were only 300 registered out of 30,000 sold after the big recall/crush....and that was late 90's.

I imagine the numbers have dwindled. :'(

Have you taken any steps to prevent engine fires?

Japanese and Datsun version Vanettes are common down here, and Bongos.
I like the looks of them, but could never find one in good shape to bother with.

There is a sticker on the door sill that says a voluntary recall has been performed.

Also, removed an air deflector to increase airflow to the engine compartment...so hopefully that helps.

Replaced the catalytic converter with a better one...the stock one was clogged. Again, hopefully that helps too.

So far, I haven't seen signs of overheating or anything....keeping my fingers crossed.

Here are some updated pics and interior shots:

The stock steering wheel was already gross...it was wrapped with electrical tape then covered with an equally gross wheel cover. So I stuck a grant wheel on there. Will probably upgrade it later on...I have a few Nardi wheels laying around.

Here's my hood propped up:

Rear A/C and Heat controls....

Seriously needs to be cleaned :(
