Good afternoon everyone! I have been cruising around the forums for a month or so and put myself on the Skyline registry but haven't gotten around to posting an introduction of me and my car. I had a chance to clean it up yesterday and take some quick pictures.

The car is a Dec. 84' DR30 RS-X Turbo with 78,000kms (48k miles). It's completely stock except for the wheels (not sure exactly what kind of wheels, they aren't enkei though).

Yeah, wheels are Southern Ways.
I'm jealous. That has some neat optional extras.
I didn't know the DRs came with air baggy seats.

I guess they're Southern Way wheels. I have had it about a week so far. I don't plan to do a lot to it. I will add some coilovers, a nardi wheel, maybe a Bride Brix II that I have sitting in my garage. I also have an old AVC-R in my garage, so I may put that on too. It has an Apex'i turbo timer on it right now. If I do anything to the exterior besides new window molding seals, It would be a Jenesis front lip or a Jenesis rear lip spoiler.

It does have the light-up license plate holders, which got me some curious stares from highway patrol on my drive back from LA with the car.

I wanted to go to the JCCS show, I hope I didn't miss the registration deadline. Also, I read somewhere else on here about someone trying to organize a bay area Skyline meet? or a CA Skyline meet?

yeah Mason

That was me.
I'm in SoCal, but I'm down with driving to NorCal, meeting halfway, or doing one in SoCal and on in NorCal

That's quite nice.

What are those extra controls on the driver's door armrest, next to the auto window switch?

The controls on the driver's door panel are stereo controls for the awesome casette tape deck. The previous owner left a tape in there and I was stoked to listen to it but the moment I turned it on, the deck ate the tape.

That IS a good question...

Smog cut-off is 1975 or older in CA of course

But Importing vintage cars to the US is under a federal 25year cut-off
So Mason's R30 is not required to meet federal crash and impact standards because it's past the 25year cut off

But I imagine that he will have to smog it...

I wonder how CA CARB is going to deal with that?
Are they just going to expect you to hit 84 Nissan/Datsun emission levels for a comparably engined car like a 280ZX Turbo or 300ZX Turbo
