The cap may have had a hole put in it for a non venting/circulating petrol tank (if such a thing exists), the hole would let vapours exit so that when you take the cap off on a hot day, it doesn't blow back all over you.
(just check your fuel tank and the evaporation lines to be sure, they might be a bit brittle).
Yeah all the evaporation lines are there and joined up, I checked them when I had to check the fuel tank
I had the morning off so I decided to do something about the paint on the front end. It looked like this: the LHS headlight surround came from the darker yellow 323's and the right was originally white, which I painted with a custom colour match can. The custom can came out too bright. The chin was all cracked up and getting some surface rust.

I bought some more custom colour ones to finish off the front end, as well as some pre mixed "Jasmine Yellow" cans to do some interior bits under the carpet. Guess which one ended up matching the paint better? The premix ones of course

Started with the headlight surrounds

Which is not too bad a match for the original paint

You can see the bad paint on the chin..

This got a bit bent during its life and I've tried to get it back into shape. It's going to be replaced at some stage, so it doesnt need to be perfect...

Bolted all back up

Out in the sun. Looking much better!

And a comparison to pic 1

I also got here oil pressure gauge hooked up. I've got 40psi at idle, not sure what it should be though..
Going to have some fun with the front suspension once all my orders turn up
