69 datsun 1000 deluxe

Hey there I'm Derrick I picked up 69 datsun 1000 here in Alberta for $200 back in June/July.
My plan for the car is to do a complete rebuild. I got a original short block for the car back in July for $400 but that's on hold I want a new/rebuilt head some side drafts and the rest.
For the summer I should be driving it with the original engine just need a brake master cyl. Hardest part is these are rare cars here I only know of 3 or 4 in Canada so if there are any other 1000 guys out there it would be great.

has white line performance springs, tokico 5 way adjustable shocks and polly bushings. auto to manual swap.

and my fleet at one time had 4 z31s

The 3 horns are not stock. That a aftermarket heater assuming the stock one does not cut it in -30 deg weather

Thank I can't wait to start it. The thing with the horns there not that loud Ether I think there from a tractor or something and all 3 sound the same so no Dixie horns

here is a update on the car along with old pics that are no longer there.

got a new engine a a14 a 1400cc rebuilt with a mild crane cam double spring lifters and ported and polished.

as of now its just a shell and im stripping the paint down to metal.

some of the rust in the quarters and rockers not alot

not alot of rust so thats a plus. im going to put a bedliner coating on on all off the under body and well thats as far as i thought i have lots of work to do so no getting ahead of my self.

well this just got alot more complicated.
i have cut out the dash and valance to get to all the rust. only had a small prob as i should of barced it as it did move a little but should be able to sort it out.

then played around for a bit. i think it would look decent that low. but not possible atleast with out tones of work

Ya its a sweet little ride will be mint when it's done.
For the high it's just for fun and would require a lot of cutting to do and the cars pretty rare

Looking great so far. There are a couple 1200s in town here but I don't know of any other 1000s.

Ya I know of one in pipestone a hour south of Edmonton that's rotting in a yard. Then ron with the yellow 1200 coupe( I bought that engine from him) told me of one east of lethbridge. Also told one of the guys in from the Calgary z club has one but so far I'll be the only one that will be driving in Alberta.

Yeah Ron's was one I was thinking of. There is another guy Scott here in Lethbridge with a 1200 coupe.
