Has anyone here ever replaced this rear shock strut assembly? If so, did any problems show up? Looks as if the biggest thing is removing the spring off the old shock and putting it on the new one.

Any comments please.

Changing the rear 810 shock is very straightforward. Much easier than changing out the front strut inserts. Only problem I can remember is that access to the nuts at the top of the strut assembly requires you to remove the rear panel in the trunk or you can pull the speakers from the rear deck panel as well.

Just use a set of spring compressors to remove the springs. Harbor Freight sells them:

P.S. The four-door cars are "sedans". You have the two-door version or the "coupe".

.... and OOPS, what was I thinking calling my 810 a sedan.

Will give this replacing job a go. Will be 80 yrs. old this June, so climbing around under my old cars gets a bit tough. :tu:
