Hello all. Just wanted to join this site so I could have some sort of resource for parts, wheels, knowledge, etc. My car is 1973 Corolla w/ 2tc. More information here: corollrat.blogspot.com

I remember reading Tom's site years ago. Really got me wanting to get a project. Never wanted a te2x, but the work and seeing his car come along was cool.

So, when do you think you will get to move your car?

It's running and registered its all just depending on what work needs to be do e from here on out. I'm planning on just doing a running build, so there's going to be a lot of neat pics and posts to come. Also I forgot to mention that previous owner swapped in a t50 with 5 speed short throw shifter :)

One of the bigger problems facing me is that interior needs a total rebuild (dash, seats, carpet, headliner, heater/blower, etc). That's going to be next winters garage project

Nice project

Are you going to replace the tail lights?
Maybe its just me but those 190E tail lights dont belong on a Toyota.

god i wish the previous owner hadn't put those in. i understand the concept of shaving the unnecessary trim and whatnot, and the stock te27 lights are pretty chromey. so i bought some kp61 starlet taillights, hopefully i can figure out how to make them fit. going to be a lesson in bodywork and fabrication though.

also, the lights are from a 500 sec, not a 190 e. little bit of a difference... :P

Dude just get stock taillights lol. If you really want some that are going to look badass then get the sprinter/trueno taillights from japan. Those are awesome!

Did you receive the Starlet lights yet?
I just figured out that your were the one that won my ebay auction for them.

If you decide not to use them I have 1974 te27 tails with centert trim i can hook you up with.

yeah, i bought those. I've been thinking about it though and i guess it makes more sense to retrofit the stock lights. It's just inevitably going to be a bunch of body work.

How much are you looking for the stock setup whit?

@Rustypanda, I got it from the Guy in Vegas, but off of Ebay. What was he selling it for on Ebay? I see shoe polish remnants on the windshield that looks like "3000"

I don't mind the paint and shaved body, but mercedes taillights? seriously? I'm going to try and revert it as much back to stock as possible. Just got an original rear end and taillights/trim set from a forum member. Might still keep the rear and front bumpers kinda custom, as skinny bumpers are going to be way hard to find.

As for paint.....

Toyota paint code #819 "Surf Blue" oughta match the silver/gold AME's nicely.

Thanks! I have a lot of work to do to get this in any sort of showable condition, but I think it's much worth it.
