Also, do you ever plan to convert your car to a 5spd?

Eventually, but as yourself I too have another project going on, my TE72 Corolla. I'm almost finished with it, just got to do some suspension upgrading, wire up some oil and temp gauges and little bits and pieces. I wanted to take care of the body work on my Corolla, but it's going to set me back on my plans with the Sunny, so I guess that'll have to wait. BTW, I do appreciate all the tips and help you've given me recently

Looking forward for your project as well.

I only ask because my car is a 5spd and I won't be using my pedals, so...

Not exactly everything you need for a conversion, but it gets you closer. :tu:

I put a set of euro bumpers on my B210 about 10 years ago. At that time I was still able to call a Nissan dealer in the UK and order the euro spec bumper brackets for my B210 right from the dealer. Nothing like using brand new factory pieces.

Yes, they were the correct factory brackets for the euro bumpers I was installing, so they fit perfectly. Are you saying you bought euro bumper brackets that do not fit euro bumpers? Is there a difference between coupes and sedan bumpers maybe?

Oh no. They fit the bumpers just fine. They just didn't fit the USDM car.

Being set up for bumper shocks meant they don't bolt up the same way as the EUDM/JDM cars...

I'm amazed yours did. :shock:

I had to fab my own brackets, using the EUDM brackets as a guide.

Well it already has a 3/2 drop. Can't go lower until I get shorter tires. Which will be very soon.

Thanks for the support guys! I have a crazy work schedule at Autozone, hardly anytime to spend with my cars or this wonderful forum. I've ran into a few problems with my B310 recently. I notice the car was a bit hesitant, loss power and idling was odd, so I ended up taking a look under the hood. I figured it was something to do with either a vacuum hose or electrical. Found out it was the wire that connects the coil to the distributor cap, so I ended up buying a set of ngk wires from Advance Auto (umm yeah Autozone does not sell any ngk wires, nor do they stock many of ngk spark plugs

). One problem was solved. Another thing I noticed was coolant splattered under my hood after a long trip to the beach. The color of the coolant looks almost like an orangey rusty shade, although I flushed and changed it last year with prestone 50/50 universal coolant (yellowish green). It seems to be that my head gasket is blown from what I've been witnessing from people around me with similar situations, and since my car blows smoke from time to time. I haven't fixed this issue yet, and am debating whether or not I should, since I want to go with an engine swap in the future.

On a happier note, I am proud to say my car took me down to Point Pleasant beach from Newark and back with nothing but a coolant spill, as it was the longest drive I ever took her in (about an hour and change one way). Though I must admit, one of the greatest feelings ever was that of driving a Japanese Nostalgic Car down the parkway with people from all angles gazing at it with their jaws dropped, and proving to your girlfriend that a classic vehicle can go the distances. Butterflies were indeed floating around in my stomach.

Though my journey does not end there. I do have plans in getting my bumpers on for this weekend, being that I finally have off one full weekend. I am also planning on getting the entire strut assembly from a 280zx, brakes and all, in order to weld on some ground control coilovers, but I'm waiting to sell some things off of craigslist first in order to fund this.

I'll keep you guys posted with any updates.

Thanks for the updates. The good news is that replacing a head gasket on the A-series engine is quite easy compared to more modern engines.

Can't wait to see hos it looks with the new bumpers.

No problem. I agree with you 100%, I'm definitely debating on replacing the head gasket as it is simple, but I will have to put that on hold for now.

Good news, I did progress a bit on Saturday with measuring up some brackets for the rear bumper. This past week my father took some measurements and brought home some steel or s/s pieces from his job to mock up some brackets. Although we didn't get to weld them, we used some hardware to secure the pieces in place. Once we get the stick welder back from a neighbor, we will weld the pieces in place and remove the hardware for a more "professional" look. Lot's of props to my dad for being on my side, and helping me with materials/everything else... I can't deny the fact that I'm blessed with great people in my family.

I was able to snap some pictures of how the brackets look, and how the bumper will sit. I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I do.

The bumper was pretty oxidized, so I gave it a quick buff... look at the difference.

Unfortunately, no mocking of the front bumper was done due to conflicts with my schedule, but I'm crossing my fingers to get it done this friday. I'll definitely keep you guys updated.

OK, it took me about a month, but I got to mount the front bumper. With my work schedule and rain getting in the way, it's a bit hard to get things done. This is not the finalization of the bumpers, of course, I have to weld the metal pieces that form the bracket in order to remove all the hardware holding everything in place. I also ordered a pair of new bumper lights from ebay to put in place of the old cracked ones, which will soon be coming in from Thailand. BTW, Im trying to figure out what kind of male bullet connectors were used on the USDM signal lights, since the Asian/Eastern market used different connectors. I did order some 16-18 gauge bullet connectors from summitracing.com, but they weren't the ones (too big). Any idea guys, before I start splicing and cutting the wire harness?
