Hi guys,

I got a 86 RX7 TurboII accident car (180HP). Engine is stock, has only 10.000km and a full service (oil, spark plugs,...) was made last year.

Know I want to pull the engine out and bulit a engine stand where I can start it.
--> did somebody here make something like this?

I don´t have to pass emission tests with this car. So I want to keep only parts which are necessary. Want a clean engine bay.
--> Which parts are removable (like Airpump, ratsnest) and how? Anyone of you did it?


Info:
The engine will get a selfmade "back-turbo" exhaust and a GREDDY eManage ultimate System with wideband-lambda control. Also I have a Apexi AVCR for adjustable boost over rev. And I want to use E85 (85%Ethanol-Fuel) in the future.

This souldn´t be a race engine or something else. Bit more Power is okay .. maybee 200hp?!


I would be glad if anyone of you can get some tips or information!

Check out rx7club.com in the 2nd gen technical section. There should be several faqs and archived threads about the TII. If it was a non-turbo I could tell you almost everything you needed to know but I've never dealt with the TII's. Good luck.

Anyone of you know what electrical devices are necessary to fire up the engine on a engine stand?
In the car I can´t start the engine with disconnected tachometer for example.
