Thanks Glomerus. What about the progress on your car? I hope it is going on well. More pics of my car. The front chrome trim was originally missing and they cost a bomb to order from Japan. I got the body shop to fabricate some new pieces!!! Not cheap but still affordable. They have shaped the side pieces. Still got to smoothen out and triple chrome it.

Looking good so far and I am quite pleased with the results. They even offered to fabricate the GT-R style rear and front spoiler and wheel arches from metal if proper pictures and measurements are provided!!! Have to think about that first. Seems like a long shot but the quality of the work on the chrome bits seem to be superb so far.

Just got some badges from a friend. Earlier engine had a top overhaul and a new carb and other bits. Drove the car for the first time to the welding shop. The L24 is a really torquey engine. They are going to fabricate the bonnet, rear inner skin behind the lamp panel, floorboards, etc. from scratch. Will post up pics when possible. Should be interesting.

Can you please list the part numbers for each of those badges? It would be very much appreciated :)

Hi n1gtr,
Pardon me for the late reply. Unfortunately all the badges I got do not have the part number except for the side script which is 78842-r4600.

You can however refer to other forums which do discuss this. The best link so far is from the following,
http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/arch ... 3e0910d0a8

I hope this helps. The local Malaysian Nissan dealer Tan Chong were not helpful at all and were not even interested in helping me with the parts search. Therefore I had to go through some kind soul in Japan. Hope you are luckier with your local Nissan dealer.

Hi Eric,
I believe the badges are still manufactured but in limited quantity. The side badges with Skyline script had a modern Nissan logo and markings on the box, so it should have been brand new. The others looked like reproductions as the boxes were unmarked. You can check it out over at Yahoo Japan Auctions. Lots of stuff there. Problem is finding the right keyword to search for these items. Most of the descriptions are in Japanese so it is hard to find. They also do not sell items outside Japan so you need an agent to get your stuff. There are really helpful guys on this forum that can assist in purchasing the items or have group buys from Japanese shops selling these items.

Hi 4G63BT,
Thanks, yeah the Watanabes are super cool. I just got some centre caps, wheel lugs, lock nuts and valves with the Watanabe logo on them. Now I can be the ultimate poser!!!
Image

The Watanabe Electron lock nuts are super cool as they are locked in with a cap which can only be opened with a magnetic keyed keychain thingy. Hard to explain but check out the pics below!!!

After a long wait, body has started to be primered. The painter still hasn't done the inside and underneath. Also planning to remove the subframes and any other items underneath to be detailed separately. Body panels were sanded down to bare metal before any primer was laid down.

Looks awesome! :tu: I didn't know the C110 had a flat front like that when you take the fenders off. Madness!

if you're going flares you'll need to go a lot bigger than 8j and 8.5j...

KPGC110 mockups you see on the internet are running (for the most part) :

FRONT
15x9 -13 225/50

REAR
15x10 -25 225/50

Ben at otomoto.com.au sells fibreglass flares also

hope this helps!

Oooh I love seeing build threads like this, it's inspiring for my C110 :)

I assume you actuyaly mean "240K" rather than "240L"? The KHGC110 is the Aussie variant.

Can't wait to see more progress on this awesome car.

Hi Swarf,
Thanks for the lead. The website shows that the flares are out of stock. I actually got the flares (needs reworking), ducktail spoiler and front spoiler too (does not fit). My main concern is getting tyres for the 9"and 10" wheels over here in Malaysia. I also dont want to stretch them out too much. Doesn't seem safe. I got the sizes off the RS Watanabe website. My offset is not exact but I guess beggars can't be choosers. I hope it fits though. Will post up pictures when I got time to mock them up.
Anyone got pics of how the flares are installed? I understand that it is not just a simple cut. Do the inner fenders need to be folded in? Any pictures would be a great help.
I didn't want to go bigger than 14 (although 15s do look great + has a larger selection of tyres). I was worried that it might look too much like a Chip Foose car.

Adzmax,
The term 240L is from the registration card of the car. I am not sure if it is a mistake. It might be a mistake as I haven't heard of this name used on similar cars yet. Normally for Laurels. The chassis code is KHGC110 so it must be an Australian grey import into Malaysia.

KHGC110 doesn't mean it's Australian
It just means it's a hardtop, L24, long wheel base, right hand drive.

Yeah sorry "H" simply specifies "export". They were exported to countries other than Australia :)
