Wheel gurus I need your help. Postive offset 5 stud wheels.

Scenario:

inherited this (second picture isn't my car, it's another that is apparently in the same city as me and even the same club but I haven't found the owner yet). V8 blah blah blah. Has the very unhelpful pcd of 5x5 or 5x127. Because it has the engineering marvel of De Dion rear suspension and a McPherson strut front with an elbow, it has factory 14in wheels with a positive offset.

I coughed up and bought some okayish looking Rostyles for it off a p5b that are 15x5 with a +33mm offset, which is apparently boarderline for use. Apparently if you go too close to neutral offset it upsets the handling. Performance Wheels in Australia sell a minilite copy that is I think a +24 offset which is about the only wheel I can find in alloy that comes in that stud pattern - but the offset is wrong.

I need to find something in a 5 stud pattern (I will either get the wheel hubs changed or the wheels re-drilled) in a 15x5 or 15x6 wheel in a highish offset that looks period (ie 60s/70's) and is alloy. I could get the Rostyles re-finished but they weigh a ton as they are literally solid steel.

Suggestions? I like some of the 60's American Racing wheels or even Halibrand kidney wheels, but I can't find anything in a positive offset.

The superlites go up to +33 on a 15x6 with a PCD up to 140.. Whats the stock offset and rim width?

Jensen Interceptor rims look good on them, might be a bit hard to find though..

Have you tried on the rostyles yet?

Yeah, but if I want superlites in the original PCD they only make them in a +24 offset, which is apparently a big no no. Makes the car feel unbalanced or something something. There's also a body weld inside the rear arch that apparently you have to cut away and weld up again if you start moving the tyre too far inside the rear wheel arch. I think this and the funky suspension is why they have a positive offset (which is kinda weird for the era).

the steel wheels that are 14" = total width of 166mm, backspace of 132mm and an offset of 49mm.

I don't like the Jensen wheels either, plus they'd be pricey here in Aus I think.

p6b's look like this with p5b rostyles (I can't be bothered finding a proper set of p6b rostyles as they are a 14in)

I think I'm going to have to keep looking...

I can't put flares on it, my family will murder me in my sleep.

With the blue car, Sowen had to cut the unibody a lot and get those steel wheels modified and at the end of the day, they are steel still so they still weigh a fair bit!

Hmm so MX5 NA rims look kinda retro? 14x5.5 +45 so a good width and offset for you - just need to change wheel or stud pattern. They weigh just over 5kg a rim. There's a set on eBay for $99 atm in VIC..

I'm sure you could polish up the lip and repaint the spokes and they'd look ok

From memory they are apparently stupidly light too.

D'oh! I should read things a bit better eh?

Pity they are 14in though. Someone on Auszoku has popped up with some Wantanabes that may fit the bill in a 15. God I love the internet...
