I can't believe how far forward that little 4 cylinder is sitting. They totally could have put straight 6 shooter in there.

They didn't offer it with one???

Woops, i thought only the R31 came with 6's. Seems there was a L20 and a diesel. It's just funny how far up that 4 is to me. I guess it's to weight balance that giant trunk.

Yes the Group A racecars mysteriously had the engine right back against the firewalls tho :)

And sure the R30 came with the usual L-series motors, I think Japan got L20 only but Australia got L24 and South Africa the L28.

The R30 came with quite the selection of engines over the years;

Z-series 4cylinders
CA-series 4cylinders
FJ-series 4cylinders
L-series 6cylinders

Turbo, non-Turbo.
Petrol, Diesel
Carb'd, EFI

1.8, 2.0, 2.4, 2.8.

The best of the best was obviously the Silhouette race car,
LZ20B 4cylinder DOHC Intercooled Turbo producing 570ps.

hi im new on the forum. also from south aus.
your car looks great!
ive been looking at getting a dr30 for some time (as they have always been one of my all-time favourite cars, ever since i was a kid and they were racing in grpA with the peter jackson livery; also my parents had an r30 sedan at the time..).
not sure, perhaps i should PM you, but i'd be interested to hear who you imported your car through? also how the reliability etc is..

hawt! :shock: :D

ahh, inspirational. If only I had a bit more cash - I'd get my set of RS-8s cleaned up, painted and fitted to the coupe. SSRs are all good, but the gold centres are really starting to get their peel on now :(

also, Nick - I'm gonna have to bring the coupe down your way sometime. Long overdue for a visit.

You can take the paint off with a dremel or a drill with the right bit. or if u have access too a mill it would be even easier.

thanks..

Im not sure of the exact sizing they were on the car when I bought it... Monday or Tuesday I should have some time to dust off the cobwebs and have a look I remember the sizes being on stickers on the inside of the rim.

there are some sizes here, with some pics of different rides;
