Toyota Celica TA22 GT Custom Year 1974

A stunning Swan that is as original as it came out from the factory.
Surprisingly there is no rust on the car, no cracks on the dashboard even the original factory radio works, emblems are all there and the chrome bit at the fenders are still there. The engine is Toyota 2TG with its original airbox still intact. Interior of the car has no tears and still original.

Can anyone help me with the origin of this model? Definitely our treasure that we promised to display. Soon we will display another 26 cars, keep in touch.

I'm not a Celica owner but I'll give it a shot and maybe we can get "Nut" some info and feedback
on this sweet "Japanese Classic".That is why were all on this site to begin with. :wink:

Appears to be a model just for Japan and other companion markets at the time?
Definately not what we got here in the U.S. for a 1974 Celica.We would have had the larger bumpers and
shorter hood vents.All our Celicas were RA code as the 2tg was not offered.Hard to tell in your pic. but your car looks like it has no rear red side markers.But this is probably just a U.S. compliance for import.

Your all factory original car looks to have had some minor cosmetic changes over the years.Cover on dash top and steering wheel,the period rims and not sure about the rear "Turbo" mudflaps.

OK "Nut" theres a little info.Now about those other 26 cars you mentioned.
Are they all Classic Japanese,Man I sure hope so.

P.S. Not best to compare a Celica to a Swan.I'm sure you were just going for the ugly duckling transformation
before and after comparsion. :lol:

looking at that celica you will find thats its a 73model as 74/75 had different air vents on back quarter glass and also the guards wernt lipped as much from 1970 to end of 73 ,74 models have a bigger flaring on front and rear guards
and GT badge is also a 73 model

Thank you for your support. For your info the covers on the dashboard and the steering wheel is due to the previous owner being so meticulous and wanting to keep the car as close as factory standard form. When we uncovered the dashboard covers and the steering wheel, we were stunned that there is not even a scratch or cracks on the dashboard. The leather coating on the steering wheel is still intact. It kind of makes me wonder how a 38 year old car that is driven 202,000 km be in such pristine condition. We will update you with the pictures.

We just did not get the car as per see but we were given a huge amount of Toyota Celica parts i.e. Carburetors, 3 sets of bumpers front and rear, 2 sets of windshields, complete four front end wings, grills and other bits and pieces. This is very useful as we have 18 Toyota Celicas to restore.

if you can go look at the body. look at the vin plate. that may tell you a little more info about the car.

I didn't even realize that was a hiku or howoever you spell it at first lol nice, there is no way this car would be sold is there? A RHD celi in this shape would make my decade! :tu:
