Hi everyone,
I though I would stick up a couple of pictures of my 808 coupe. 1 previous family owner, all original including the original whitewall spare in the boot. It is really hard to find Mazda 808's in New Zealand that haven't been subjected to a really poor conversion to an RX3 look-alike. And to find a 808 coupe in this condition is almost unheard of. Especially a red one...

Fantastic! The red looks really nice one it. I had a '73 808 coupe myself. Looks like you have an interesting selection of cars there.

Fantastic to see another unmolested 808 survive. They are only Original once. Have you got any other piccies of interior, engine bay etc.

The only thing I have done to this car since I got it is add white walls and the crome trim to the wheels. The Engine bay is what you would expect to see for a 38 year old car, but once I detail it (clean up and tidy) I think it will come up trumps! The interior is in really good nick, no cracks in the dash and still has the original radio! And up until just before I got it it still had the plastic coverings on the rear (you can just see the remains in the picture).

With a clean, polish and some detailing I think this engine bay will come up mint.

Rear carpets could do with being replaced..

And I haven't even done a cut n polish yet..

David, You sold the car? Man I kept asking you to reconsider...

Interesting, it looks like a lower spec car. Most of the 808 coupes I've seen have the RX-3 style seats, door trims and the handbrake console. Do the pillar badges (behind the rear side windows) read "SUPER DELUXE" or something else?

The rear pillar badges just say 'Deluxe'. It think the latter version 808 coupes with the round headlights may have been the Super version with the RX3 Door cards etc but I'm not sure.

What a great find, please keep as a piston Mazda! I reproduce Chassis plates, I would be curious to see the ADR plate, as I already reproduced the Chassis plate.

Nope still got it. I am picking the parts to stop the rear brakes leaking tomorrow. I think it might need a minor bit of motor work before attempting a long trip as it stalled for no reason on me last time I had it fired up. I'll let you know - still on the fence.

UPDATE:

Thought that now I have been on here for a wee while now I may as well go into the full story of this car for anyone who is remotely interested. Manily because the other pictures I posted don't really do the car justice..
I bought this car last year from Christchurch. As I live in Auckland viewing the car was always going to be a bit of a mission so luckily my Dad lives in Christchurch and he agreed to go and check it out. I asked him to check all the nasty coupe/sedan rust places etc. We orginaised for him to view it on the Thursday and spent the whole day wondering if this was going to be as good as I hoped for. Well dad rang me from around the corner from the car and when I asked what it was like he told me"If you don't buy it I will"..
Now thats a big call.. My dad writes for NZ Classic Car magazine and has a large collection of Classic cars and motor bikes. You can see his Morris Oxford and His Mark 1 Zephyr convertiable in some of the previous pictures.. (he also has a 62 T-bird a Mk 1 Sedan and 27 motorbikes..including a couple of Honda Bently's)
So, If my dad wanted it I knew I had to have it.. Bad part was I wouldn't get it till early January as I was going away.
Well now it's here and I couldn't be happier!
So anyway, here are some more recent pictures of my 808..

Your car looks awesome, I love the look of stock 808's. Don't see many red coupes around that haven't had the colour changed to something less appealing.
