Hi guys thought id share a few pics of my 1200. It was a one owner up until 2001. I bought it off a friend at a good price!! He did have it running a 13b bridgeport but sold off the motor seperately and i got the car. New running gear will be fitted soon!

Nice coupe mate. Great to see some early Mazdas moving into SA instead of from SA!!

What running gear have you got planned?

Thanks mate, the car was originally from SA but it moved to victoria for a while. Still undecided on running gear but most probably turbo.

Looks very tidy!! Has it had any restoration work, or is it all original, and yet another one with a slightly out of shape dash pad above the glovebox, I wonder why they all seem to warp there?

Also, it must be a 1970 model as it has the larger "1300" type guard indicators, either that or a very very late '69.

Look forward to see what you do with the running gear :D

Cheers. That dash warp sux! dash is totally mint except for that little bit. Must just happen with age. The car is all original and never been restored. Interior is really good, back seat is as new. It has had a larger trans tunnel fitted so it needs a new carpet floor. Only a bit of rust under the right rear quarter, one of the guards and a couple dents here and there. Good for 42 years old. It will get a touch up fairly soon. Adelaide nanna had it since new until she finally gave in and sold it. Front guard indicators have been swapped for later model type too.

Not too sure how to remove any of the dash? I would have done the same and hoped it came loose! I remember my old r100 had a heap of screws and bolts under the dash and glovebox area where you couldn't see them but you could put your hand up under there and feel where they were. Maybe try that on your 1200 :? Lots of hidden screws for brackets etc..

Cheers guys! With two grommets running around and trying to finish a newly built house there is no progress on the coupe just yet. Buzz3n did you sell your motor?

I'm in adelaide by the way. This could have been the coupe you saw. It had a bridgeport fitted here in adelaide and then moved to victoria for a while. It was pretty loud too.
