 Post subject: Thinking about selling my Goon.

Hey I'm thinking about selling my 69 510 Goon in order to put money into my 2 door Dime. Right now the wagon looks like this:

Would it be worth more if it I put it back to stock? All I've done is lower it and wheels on it. And is there a better time to sell? To make sure I get the price I want.

Most times, I'd say stock is better, but for these cars, most of us find a nice, original car, swap the rims and slam it, and drive it as is. You've saved someone a lot of trouble and the car looks far more attractive for it. :tu:

Most people will offer the car as $XXXX with wheels and suspension and $XXXX stock. This way you'll reach both markets and may get to keep the parts.

Those Libres (?) look nice.

^^ Knock-off Libres, the brand "VTO".
VTOs are available and not to mention a lot more affordable.

Well, this car only has 33K miles on it, so it's a prime resto project. I don't know, I'll think about this for awhile.

My advisement, being a collector I can tell you that not all modifications decrease the value of a vehicle.
However this strongly depends on the given vehicle in question, amongest other things are they period
correct, etc.

There really are two sorts of collectors out there.
Those who are sort of fan boys looking for the ultimate classic lengend of the street, and then
those who collect these cars and they go into a show room.

I've a number of classic european machines, as well Japanese. Documents and vehicle history records are
very important in the world of classic cars. Proving vehicle milage is going require both an extensive history
and possibly third party verification.

Especially since a lot of these old cars have simply rolled over, or been
rolled back, or simply stopped working.

You'll find this charactor and mind set amongest the guys who are willing
to spend 25,000 to 300,000 on a concourse quality car then say the average joe who just wants a nostalgic Japanese
car.

In general, things such as vehicle identification found on the factory original windows, having original
interior /paint color corrected, factory and vin correct parts, wheels, tool kits, manuals, spare tire, things
that came with the car or were available as an option for the car.

Things that can hurt you, are irreversible modifications, collisions, signs of cracking due to modifications,
modifications that involve the removal of rare or un usual emissions controls or pumps, deletion of AC or
Heater. The list is long.

The most important thing is to find the right buyer! Someone that had or has the same vision and interest
in the car as you once did. All of the above is meant to widen the perspective and merely enable you perhaps
a better idea of what kind of buyer you want to appeal to before attempting to do so.

Shame to hear you are thinking of letting your Goon go. Good luck and I hope that whatever you get next
makes you just as happy.
