It says pre 1985 only, but in the gallery of the site there are late model Rx7s on display?

It doesn't say PRE 85 only.
It states that PRE 85 cars are on the wanted list. Along with a heap of other styles.

Should be a good day for all the entrants.
If today was any thing to go by bring the sunscreen.

Well this turned out to be a pretty great show. Quite a surprising cross section of cars, from drifters, to stock restos, to VIP, sex spec and restomod.

First car to catch my eye was an immaculate Vortex...haven't seen one of these in years
Image

Boro-spec AE86...for when you don't mind your tofu delivered all scrambled
Image

660cc of Cappucino kei-class fury
Image

Tough looking Cresta
Image

Tough looking MX5s have been quite a staple of any JDM show downunder for a while now.
Image

LS400 was from the AUSVIP forums and...
Image

...was airbagged
Image

This guy with the super clean S13 (haven't seen one this clean in a long time)..
Image

...was quite dedicated to keeping it stock and clean, and even goes to the trouble of chasing down the rare factory options.
Image

Gullwing Toyota Sera
Image

Image

Image

Super clean Cosmo was has the same owner until 2007, a real low miler with I think 70k on the clock.
Image

Image

Lancer GTO
Image

...aaaand...Mazda Roadpacer!
Image

It's a rotary, Jim, but now as we know it.
Image

One of Mazda's more strange applications of the rotary engine, in the early 70s, they fitted 13Bs and auto transmissions to the Holden Kingswood, which was GM's full-size sedan in Australia.

It was a very short-lived joint venture, as the rotary powerplant didn't really combine with the big boned GM platform all that well.
Image

But it is a very interesting footnote in rotary engined history. It's a ...Mazda??
Image

Says so on the steering wheel...onle of maybe only 5 still running, worldwide.
Image

Clean stock RX-2 Capella
Image

Image

Cressida looking fine
Image

Rotary medley
Image

Image

Low, rat style Crown
Image

If the urban legend is true, and Mitsubishi named their sports car the Starion because they mispronounced the "L", then why did they name their volume seller the Galant?
Image

1600S Corona dressed up in JDM racing livery
Image

Super clean
Image

Plenty of clean old Toyotas
Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Insanely virginal JDM-spec AE92 Corolla FX GT
Image

Fellow JNCer w810c pushing the kaido-racer boundaries, as always :)
Image

....the driver also turns up in character :D
Image

Image

Image

When your tofu absolutely, positively, has to get there by hooking the wheels over the inside gutter
Image

Image

Image

Isuzu Bellett
Image

That's umm...different
Image

GTS-R R31 Skyline. One of 800 built to homologate special racing parts for Group A in the late 80s.
Image

Apart from the wheels, this is very stock, unlike the one we saw at the Datsun Day last week.
Image

So it still has the hi-mount T04 turbo
Image

And the big intercooler
Image

Image

Image

Mid 80s Starlet Turbo
Image

With appropriately period tunes

My friend Shane's World Time Attack contender. (it's got 800+hp....)
Image

KE17 Sprinter Coupe
Image

R33 Skyline GT
Image

Series 8 Spirit R RX-7, the last of the FD series
Image

Nissan Cubes are becoming quite popular here.
Image

Fender mirrors, wats and a lowered stance make all the difference
Image

Australian-spec R31 sedan had an interesting secret under the bonnet
Image

3.0 litre RB26 with throttle bodies!
Image

Midnight blue on BBS LMs. Good Taste.
Image

Mega clean RX4 Luce Rotary
Image

Toyota Crown nuzzling next to R34 GTRs? Only on All Japan Day.

It was great to run into a few fellow JNCers today to chew the fat
Image

This is a Mitsubishi Legnum, which is an early 90s wagon, which is AWD and with a twin turbo 2.5L V6.
Image

Very neatly styled, they have a strong following here.
Image

RX-3 on Watanabes
Image

This is a Nissan Stagea, which is also an AWD wagon, but with a 3.0L turbo V6
Image

Lexus V8 engined Crown Majesta
Image

Image

Image

Image

R32 Skyline sedan
Image

That tough Cresta again
Image

A wonderful find...mint Leone coupe!
Image

Image

Skylines were manufactured in Australia in the 80s, and here's an ADM wagon
Image

JDM-sedans are a little different though, this is a JDM pillarless sedan called a Skyline Passage GT
Image

FD RX-7 packing some serious turbo
Image

Image

Super, super clean R32 GT-R with only 55,000kms on the clock! This is one of the 100 that they imported as an official Nissan Australia model in the early 90s.
Image

R34 Nur-spec
Image

R34 Z-tune
Image

This is the first time it's been held in Sydney, but it was a great success. No trophies or classes, just a relaxed day of showing your car. And what a great variety we got today.
Image

Image

Image

Congratulations to the organisers for a wonderful show that captured all aspects of the Sydney JDM community perfectly, and we can't wait until next year :D
