I haven't been back in awhile, I realize, but here's the car now - we've had some mechanical issues lately, but even if we're slow we look pretty. We're making about 120ish HP to the rear wheels (no, I'm not saying REAL numbers, c'mon now!) still using the OEM ECU and harness, we corner at 1.6+ Gs, and weigh in at under 1682 (our class minimum weight)

Wow if you don't mind me asking, how did you manage to hit such a low weight? I always wanted to pick one of these up but the weight turned me off.

I'm a racer/rulemaker and a 2200-2300lb car these days is considered light. The earlier cars 85-86 are at the low end of that range. Look for a hardtop, without the OEM wing, none of the factory frunk bracing, and the base seats.

My car is losing even more weight in the coming weeks because I need to move weight around to make it handle better before September. After that, I'm converting the steering rack to an electric power steering system, the front suspension will be a double A-arm, and we're building a front splitter.

so where did you get the fender flares from?

I bought 2 kits from the zstore.com and used only the rear flares on the car. The remaining front flares are awaiting a street use.
