Long time lurker, first time poster.
I'm living the sorta expat life out here in the Philippines for a bit till hopefully things pick up again in the states. Quick background, grew up in the US, had numerous Hondas, couple of BMW's, Toyotas. Never had old school car till now. Moved back here to PI last year, almost died in typhoon Ondoy! Always been a fan of 80's and under japanese cars, big fan of Lancer boxtypes. My pops had one when i was 5 or 6. Picked up this 85 SL from someone i knew in the neighborhood. Clean car, needs just a lil detail work to make it look perfect. When i got it, it had ATS wheels but i quickly took em off and put some Minilights for daily driving.
I dont belive in buying already fixed up cars. Every car ive had has always been stock at purchase. BUT since this box was mostly stock except for the drop and wheels, i thought it would still be a good canvas for my own taste. The ATS wheels were the first to go, since this car was known in my neighborhood. Gotta give her its own identity.
as first seen:
quick shoot:
removed stripes and ATS wheels. Took the aftermarket fog lites off also.
readjusted the bumpers after those pics again to try to get em closer. had to enlarge the holes in the brackets. What a pain in the ass. Love workin on old cars, so simple, no computers!
