She looks good.At $2000 I think its a great buy. All Mazda's of this age will have sum rust.
Being a Rotary owner i'm sure you know what to look for engine wise.Does it start easy both hot and cold.Does it blow any smoke etc.
Also it might pay to get a compression test done on the engine to see how much life is left in it.With a good clean and a respray I think it would come up nice.

Looks good
What i can say from this photos
1 Paint same condition as mine (tiny cracks all over) so most likely you will need to sand it back to the metal and then respray
2 Open Bonnet photo looks like car been overheated.
3 Missing Chrome bits, Mazda stop making them so again you will need to hunt them
4 Wheels are in good shape (just a quick can respray will do for some time) and they are heavy steel. So remember PCD is 120x4 which is ONLY ONE car ever made with this PCD :) so it will be realy hard to get some alloys or you will need to find Converters.

This car is good for its age and in original condition which is a great bonus
Tool bag is a good thing people this days ready to pay a lot for this original tool bags :)

After you get the car don't bother looking for lowered springs they will be still to hight:) so just cut original springs :) save some money :)
When you will be removing all moldings be careful plastic clips around windows still can be obtained from Mazda (I got them for $3.50 each you will need 20) but molding on the side there is no clips available for it.

So good luck with it would love to see it as a restored project. :)

Back seat looks really nice. Just needs a cleanup. Try a small area first but in my experience Westley's Bleche-White works really great on white leather/vinyl seats. :tu:

for the dash cracks, use bondo and sand it all down. make smooth and pretty then have someone flock it. nothing like pseudo suede dash to get the ladies.

White interior with white seatbelts looks great I want one :)
All the rips try some of your lockal motor trimmers to repair it I been quoted $120 for my front seats just to renew the stiches. So it's not that expensive but will make it looks like new :)
About cleaning lucky for you you don't know what is Australian red dirt :) super tiny so it gets everywhere and super dirty so it super hard to get rid of. :)

Oh man it has been 3 years in the making to get one of these. I'am very excited to own this car and the deal I got on it. Lets just say I got a hook up because of my love for All things Mazda Rotary related.

Hey mate,
Here's a link to Yahoo Japan. You should look at buying this manual.

http://page17.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/a ... v252729447

I have purchased previously, parts manuals for my JC Cosmo and most
recently both my S1 and S2 626 RWD. :D

VERY worthwhile investment! :D
