1986 Camry SV11

Hi folks
Crownie replacement finally here. Its a 1986 Camry SV11 hatch; preferred a large sedan, but beggars cannot be choosers. Still I'm satisfied I have a large car-and one which is road licensed at that.
Its fully loaded other than a/c, cool blue interior.
Original 2s-e has 159k (kms) on the clock, comes with catalytic converter.
Bodywork has a little rust on the hatch door and a couple of spots on the sunroof, otherwise completely clean.
Drives very solidly, no rattling and squeaking noises at all

Oddly its lhd. From the rear screen sticker, it was originally sold new in Germany or some german-speaking region and was brought by its owner who probably had a spell working here. It was never officially imported by the local toyota dealership.
Its akward driving it in an rhd country :mrgreen:

Great to see another of these increasingly rare cars. I have one in Brisbane Australia which is in need of attention to its paint but go's so well. Mine is Auto and averages around 7.5ltr/100km. Cannot add some photos as the system wont accept them

same here; nice to meet a fellow owner even if from the other side of the globe

Right now I'm treating some of the brown stuff on and around the sunroof!

Does yours have ac? mine does not

(and it IS handy in Med summers!) however i suspect it has all the preparation there

Wow!! I had the oppurtunity to buy one of these for 500 bucks with 85000 miles on it!! Didnt do it since I live in an apartment and deal with three cars as it is....great find, enjoy it!!!

Ours has factory fitted Denso air conditioning and is auto with the sport option.

removed nasty brown stuff from around the sunroof...

and from the sunroof itself

some of the stuff on the underside of the tailgate, so we did the whole thing while at it! Thats right, a KE25 and a KP60 at the back; the KE25 is the bloke's own.

So most of the rot is sorted out; paint on the hood and wings is showing signs of wear, so that's the next in line.

Meanwhile, on a fine clear autumn midweek, temp 21*c, perfect weather to take her out for a spin in the countryside, quiet from the maddening weekend picnicking families.

above shot was somewhat risky; only three days before, a section of cliff face only metres away from this place went crashing into the wild mediterranean below!! :mrgreen:
