Awesome, do the pit bike guys pitch you any sh*t? Looks like a ton of fun! I'd like to try it :D. I'd have to find a good deal on a suit though. :D.

Nah not now. when I first showed up at the first race, all of the motorcycle guys just looked at my weird and some of them laughed.one guy on a fully modded pitbike witha 140cc bbk kind of talked trash but as soon as I went out on the track for qualifying and posted my fastest q lap they couldn't believe how fast I was on the bike.the guy that talked trash came in last place in the final race that day.beat him by almost a minute in a 8 lap final. 22 sec. more and I would have lapped him. check craigslist for race suits. there was a couple on there for less than $100 and in very good shape.

^ expired :(

Woohoo! Got my motor today. Going to start mocking stuff up on my spare frame for the motor mount, then worry about getting all the electrical and cables. Last on the list is the front fork swap. This is kind of a side project, and since riding season is pretty much over where I live (and I'm broke), I'm prolly going to take a while on this build, but I'll update when I do anything!

Sh*t! I hope it fits!! lol

yeah, I dont think I'm getting the 90mpg everyone else seems to be getting, lol. Both of our sprees seem to be reliably breaking 35mph though, even on slight inclines (forget about big hills though, lol). I'm hoping to be a bit faster with the swap, but really I just wanted a variated motor, and something more reliable than the 2 stroke stock motor.

Nice Spree!

I have a red 1985 Spree, but it's not as nice as yours. It's plastic is cracked in the few places and needs a cylinder. I've been looking for an AF16E to swap in to it for almost a year, but haven't been able to find one.

For 50cc, and a single speed, Sprees are shockingly fun. We had one in the used showroom at my work (scooter mechanic by profession) that had like 8000 miles on it, no sign the engine has ever been opened up - certainly didn't have a BBK or larger carb, and it did 35mph no problem. It was a slug off the line, but once it caught it's breath, it would scoot... pun intended...

Not much to look at, but there is mine next to my Aero 125 (excuse my messy garage).

I also have a BIZARRE Chinese made Metro clone with a two stroke Minarelli (clone) engine. It says "Vmoto Milan" on it, but those were only sold in Australia it appears. It also has a KM-only speedo and odometer, so I guess someone actually shipped it here from Austalia...

^ I have a ruckus motor if you are interested. I also have an 85 I'm parting out if you need engine parts. Missing a stator and fan though.

Just brought this home on sunday! The wife wanted an extra bike for quests, and a guy in town had this bike for $100. It's a runner, but bogs/dies under any kind of throttle. Fairly certain its the carb, which I happen to have some experience with :D. Anyway, thought I'd post it up.

EDIT: I meant *guests, I would change it, but it's kind of an awesome spelling mistake
