Hi all

Last week I picked up a 1975 Mazda 929 Coupe with a 12A Rotary engine (means nothing to me?? is that good? he said it was built 9k miles ago)

I have always had VW or Audi before this, but fell in love with this when I saw it... it’s like a baby mustang

I couldn’t find any rust and the car runs like a dream... clutch feels a little iffy.

Any common fault I should know about?

what are parts like? are there many of these about, and does anyone know the car? as I have no history

also I live in a village near slough are there many meets local? And do they still have a jap night at Ace Cafe

sorry for the million questions, like I said I am very very new to this

ok here she is...

week one thought i would take her to work... big mistake

clutch issues this morning, wouldnt go into gear... took it to Mr Clutch and they saying master brake cylinder, brake servo and the clutch plate seems black which also seems like it needs to be replaced... doesn’t sound cheap, so am waiting for a quote
if they can find the parts that is

anyone had this problem?
is it an expensive fix?

Looks good not sure about the back but over all looks really clean

About the fix its an old car in good condition they will try to get as much as they can out of you :(
Try to find ppl who like this type of cars and ask them to help you to do it yourself or do a bit of research and just do it yourself the cheapest way (as long as you comfortable with tools and think before you do)

The master brake cylinder and brake servo have nothing to do with the gear change.

You'll need either a clutch master or slave cylinder. These parts are always on Ebay for little money. Clutch plates too. Look for rx7 stuff instead of 929, as this probably has rx7 running gear

You can try rockauto.com as well, but I'm not sure if they ship internationally.
