Best bet is AE86 stuff or you can try to find an 87-88 MX73 somebody is parting out. That is the quick big brake mod most MkII Supra owners perform. Funny though, they combine it with the LCAs, knuckles and tie rod ends from your RA. Supposedly it will give better steering angles and such on the MkII supra. You could go all out and find an 89-92 MX83 and swap in the five lug front. It is still a strut style front end and should swap directly over. Then just get Strange to make you a set of five lug axles and you are good to go. Of course, this would mean new rear brake solution and rims as well. This is going to be my plan for my RA29. I even have a set of 16x7 and 8 Conquest rims waiting in the shed to go on. Pretty much nothing from the MkIII supra will work on our cars without a ton of fabrication.

I did this swap on my Corona... I had a 78 trans from my Celica GT that was rebuilt, so I wanted to use that trans but ran into this problem. The housing comes off by twisting it, I couldn't figure it out, but a friend did it at his shop. He swapped the levers out and now I have a 78 trans with a 79 shift lever. Cutting wasn't going to work for me because of the Corona console... the shifter had to be in the right place for that.

I'm looking for a shift knob and found one I like but it is built for threads on the knob that are 3/8"... Does anyone know if that will fit on my 81 Celica?

A budget upgrade we do on the third gen celicas and the MKII Supra is to pull the Front hubs and calipers from a 87-88 Cressida. They bolt up directly to the front of those cars. I am almost certain it would work on your 2nd Gen.

Celica died on the way down to PSTOF... :cry:

had it towed home and went back to PSTOF in the Tacoma

Still dont know what happened... driving down the road the car lost power and then it would crank but never fire. there is gas and spark but the spark appeared light. any thoughts?

Check ignition coil, happened to me last winter coming home from work. Changed coil an fired right up. Good Luck

Snonuff is bring over his extra coil, ignitor and distribitor today... so hopefully one of those fixs the issue

Maybe an MSD one would work, fairly cheap to find used on CL.
