MOMO, but it didn't fit. Tried a snap off adapter, but it made the wheel to close, so had to drill new holes in the boss... :(

Well, it will probably stay like this until I get the 1JZ. Trying to source a manual Soarer in the UK, but no luck so far.

Oh, and we welded the diff today. At least now I can have some fun in the rain while waiting for the engine swap :D

No big update today. Went to the scrapyard to see if I could find some seats, but came home empty handed :(

So instead I decided to fit my vintage casette player. Unfortunately it didn't fit the original frame, so I hade to make a new one from sheet aluminium. It looked crap, so I wrapped it in stickerbomb vinyl. Not as elegant as I had hoped, but I guess it fits the style of the car. Now all I need to do is to source a couple of retro shelf speakers. My 90s Boss speakers are not vintage enough! :P

I also started making a 3D model of the car for testing in sim and trying out different colors and styles.

I'm not a big believer in luck, but I must admit I've been a bit lucky recently! After searching norwegian sites for cheap bucket seats, I came across a two year old post on an Alfa Romeo forum. The poster had several seats for sale, one of them being a Bride seat. Needless to say, these are insanely rare to find in Norway, so I figured I should send this guy a message, just in case he still had the seat. And not only did he still have it, he clearly had no idea what he had. So tomorrow, I'm picking up this seat for $90!

Should look nice in the Cressy! :D

I've also had some time to work on the 3D model. Guess I will get it ingame in a few days time :)

Nice car, nice modelling skills :) What are you doing the modelling in, and into what game? I've been working on a model of my 1970 Corolla Sprinter, to put into LFS.

Thanks. I use Zmodeler 1.07 and drive it in Racer. Wish I had time to learn a better software, but it'll do for now.

Got the car ingame today, with Supra engine and everything. Still need to add details and textures, but I just had to try it out :D

I also made a small mod to my real car today. It's a simple mod that I always do to my drift cars. I simply bend the e-brake lever a little to make it easier to reach and fix the button so that it doesn't lock. Minor mod, but very effective :)

So, I finished the game model (sort of) on tuesday. I worked day and night on it the last couple of days, as I was asked to bring a couple of game models to a job interview. Turned out ok, allthough I will probably keep working on it a little more.

As for the real car, I haven't really done that much. Going to a car show tomorrow though, so I dropped the rear another inch and strapped an oil cooler at the front. Not connected, but at least it looks cool :P

Change of plans!

I originally bought the car to build a proper racecar, but I love it too much allready. So I will continue on my current path instead. No 1JZ-GTE for now, but rather a N/A 2JZ or 7M-GE with triple carbs or something. Less power, but awesome sound :D

It just feels more right to keep this as a "road legal" daily driver than to build a racecar. It will of course still be a proper trackday/drifter, just with a bit of comfort and classic looks. At least that's how I feel today. Might change my mind again though :P

Have you looked into using a MA61 Cross member? been told these bolt in then you can buy JZ or UZ mounts off the shelf

car is looking awesome to. did you end up putting the 5mm spacers on the rear?

I will look into it, but my mate who is helping me doesn't seem to mind making some custom bits :)

As for the spacers, I now only run a spacer on the right rear. As we haven't yet decided on suspension, we just cut the springs a lot. This of course moved the rear axle to the left a bit, so I only run the one spacer to compensate :)
