Thats going to be a tough call. Wish I knew more of the shops around her. I would just start calling any tuner shop in the area and go from there.
And you should still come to the meet, JTIN or not, just to meet fellow minds and maybe find people who know of some good shops.
Can't go anyway, just remembered I have a birthday party to go to. Neighbor is turning 40, sounds like it's going to be quite the show.
Problem is, I don't know ANY tuner shops in the area. I've asked around, but here in the Layton/Ogden area I can't find a single one. If anyone knows of any possibilities I can call them and see what they say.

Dang that's too bad! I was hoping to disgrace your car by parking mine next to it and taking a picture.

You should still come anyway!

PS, have you tried running it without the thermostat all together? I was having troubles with my 20r overheating due to air in the system (when I was using the incorrect radiator) and running without the tstat solved it. it never heated all the way up but that isn't really a problem during the summer.
Nate
I've tried everything I can think of short of a new engine. Changed the t-stat twice, and tried running without one at all. New water pump (old one looked fine). New radiator. Bill (celicoupe) changed the head gasket and fixed a likely issue with how the water hoses were routed. I've changed to tune on the fly to make it run more rich. I know Bill had the head checked and looked over the cylinders and nothing was found, but at this point I'm guessing it's probably a cracked block or possibly head or head gasket issue. It warms up fine, runs ok for a few minutes, then like it hits a wall it starts overheating. Gets air in the system, and I'm pretty sure it's not just boiling coolant. I found a shop that claims to specialize in diagnosing problems and they were confident if I brought it in they could tell me what is wrong even if they are not equipped to fix it. Trouble is, damn car will not start. Honestly, I'm both fed up and too busy to put any effort into getting it running.
As far as disgracing me... Sure, ok, maybe, but when my car is running lets do it anyway. Perhaps we should do this comparison with the hoods raised?
