JDM Import Service in California

Hey there!

I distinctly remember a business here in California which imported JDM classics. Anyone know what the name might be?

I completely forgot their name and location.

If you know of such a company in California, please let me know.

Is the pricing from JDM Legends pretty fair? Looks like they bring in some pretty high quality cars. That Celica on the site now it's sexy time.

What Eric does really well is to handle the shipping & especially the importing into the states...

Sure you could book a flight to Japan, board the plane with a duffel full of cash, and go used car shopping. You might even find a decent hopped up Skyline GT-X (with 2.8-3.0L triple Mikuni PHH, etc) for about the equivalent of $12-15000.

But then you have to find a shipping company
Get your car to the dock
Hope it gets packed up good
Wait while it's on the slow boat to CA
Deal with importing through US customs
Get a Title created so the vehicle can be registered in the States
etc

Add up all those hours, and it's a no brainer that using an established service like Eric's is the way to go.

Yeah sure you end up paying a bit more than the retail price in Japan, but it takes time and effort to do the above legwork, and well it's only fair that he make a bit of cash on the side too to pay his bills.

Go with Eric - you'll be happy.

Even for cars over the 25 year age limit you are still required to have a Registered Importer responsible for taking the car through customs for any conformity work that needs to be done. In otherwords, even with all that you still need a place like JDMLegends involved.

Not true, to clear customs on these you can either do it yourself or use a licensed customs broker. I just did mine last year.
