Not many 1300's on this forum so thought I would start one on mine.

It's a Mazda 1300 STB 1971

Got this one about 6 months ago. Slowly starting to strip the old paint and fix the rust, then a colour change (???)

Will keep the updates coming with pictures..

The roofrack didn't seem to suit the coupe in the photo you posted on AR, but loaded with stuff and with the car sitting that low(photoshop?), it looks really good on there. Time for me to put my rack back on the wagon I think and dig out some of the stuff I used to load onto the beetle's roofrack back when I had it!

Keen to see what you do with the 2 door :tu:

My grandfather had an identical spec 2 door sedan like yours except in the factory olive/ army green colour. He bought it after trading in his mini in the 70's. Still remember the cars. I'll have to see if I have photos of it anywhere.

You'd have to be happy with that body, talk about super clean 8)

Yeah Dave that's what everyone keeps asking me. I had a few little bits of shit that I had to buff anyway so gave every panel a quick wiz with 3000 so I didn't really give it a full cut, still has a bit of peal just looks a little wetter now. Just a lot of work for only a slight change

Thanks Michael, I don't understand how there can be so many people on other forums saying how much they love Jewel Green yet I never see any builds come out in the colour. Yes it look very brown when its not in the sun but a little bit of sun is when the coulor comes alive!! Every picture I take the colour changes, can't wait to take it outside..

Still have to fit everything up and get the gaps right.

Colour looks sensational. Jewel green is a favourite colour of mine.

What running gear are you planning for this one?
