Hmmm, I missed this thread at first, i have a couple JNMs(?)

My daily rider gas saver cafed Yamaha SR250, probably the most fun you can have at 50 to 60 mph! Mostly stock with a tank off an RD400 a chopped down stock rear fender, Harley tail lamp, adjustable bars and a seat of unknown origin.

And my project bike, a 1966 Suzuki X6 Hustler 250cc two stroke. The first real Japanese super bike. First production motorcycle with a six speed, first 100 mph Japanese bike, first with an injection pump for the two stroke oil. Cool bike that I got from the original owner. Torn down now doing a full resto mod with some bolt on cafe parts but retaining the option to go back to stock.

I had a 72 Honda CL350:

I currently have a 75 Yamaha DT400:

note: pictures are not of my actual bikes, just ones I pulled off the web.

(man, I miss that old Honda) :tu:

-edit-
actually, now that I think on it a little more, I've had a handful of mid-70's Hondas, and a Kawasaki 350 triple, too, but it was pretty far gone, and I never did anything with it. kinda wish I had. it would have been a cool bike.

A definite classic here. Grab the snow-ski & track set, and you're off for fun...

there's a cub50 about an hour from my house on craigslist. horrid condition, but $150.. i don't know if i can pass on it or not.. my wife will kill me, but i'd love it so much. have a honda metropolitan right now..

should i do it?? i mean, ebay is flooded with new parts so i don't think restoration would be that bad.. here's the CL ad:

Boso look on a sport bike! Amazed. His GF's handbag animal tail on the helmet really setting off the mood. He even had the ding-ding-dinga-ding bit going with his (off vertical) exhaust too...

I love Japan.

I'm in no way a bike guy but can someone tell me more about this bike. It's my dad's old Honda that is currently sitting in my grandfather's shop.

Do not take this as gospel as I do not know much about bikes but it looks like a Honda CG 125 from maybe the early 80´s.
I am only saying this as it looks like a bike my friend had.
Wait for conformation from someone who actually knows what they are talking about! :)

Moved to proper forum.

And yes, there's now a section specifically for vintage Japanese two-wheeled vehicles... 8)

That's awesome...i'm obsessed with turbo bikes. I'm currently working on a sketch of a Yamaha Seca Turbo, and a GPZ750 Turbo will come soon after! I may start a JNM Drawing Thread later.

Looks more early 70s to me?

My money is on either '71-73 CB350...

Or same era CB250...

OK, Drive510 asked what bike this was -

Image

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Datsunfreak and I have had our guesses but I was 100% sure I was correct (what a mistake-ah to make-ah!).
So I sent Drive510´s image to my friend for conformation that it was the same as his old bike...
He told me I was stupid and completely wrong
Apparently it is a 1972 CB175 -

Image

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

And, Drive 510, if you need inspiration to start a build thread on the new forum here I found these -

I confess, I know nothing about bikes but visually I think my friend Steve is correct.
Damn, I did not even guess the capacity correctly!

Drive510, I have been doing a little bit of research and this is actually a really cool bike.
The exact model seems to be a Honda CB175K6 Super Sport.
The serial number began CB175-7000001.
Only came in 2 colours - red or gold.

http://www.cyclechaos.com/wiki/Honda_CB175K.

Parts seem to still be available -

http://www.classicjapanesemotorcycles.c ... nda+cb+175

This is a great little bike and I have actually increased my knowledge on motorcycles because of your post.
Cheers :tu:
