Had some trouble with the carby the past few days, luckily I haven't left my buddy's house yet for my trip because of this issue. Carb had a clogged jet, could get the car running but it wouldn't stay running. Took the carb off, disassembled it, cleaned it, made a couple new gaskets for it, and now I'll be reassembling it in the morning. :tu:

New tires done, glad they had some 13s in stock. Found another spare under the car so now I have 7 wheels total, 6 I would reuse. Doing a oil change now, fixed the water temp gauge (cleaned corrosion of sensor) adjust timing and should be good after that.

nice find....you rarely see one of those, especially the extended bumpers and super intact interior.

Here in the Philippines we still have wagons that are restored but none of the extended bumpers US version .... Cheers to you dude!

You'd think that was a good thing, US bumpers are a tad on the large/ugly side :P

Cool car man, needs Jap/Aus/anything but US bumpers stat :D

Installed my galant trunk emblem today, if anyone is wondering the drill bit I used was a 5/32 bit. Just matched it to the holes in the hood from where it used to say Dodge. Hit 60k on the odo yesterday by the way :) .

Amazing how a little cleaning, rubbing compound, and wax really brighten up the paint. While up close yes it could use a fresh coat, but makes it a decent 20ft car now  8) .

Some Matt guy from Cali 8). I repainted the faded black in the lettering with a paint pen yesterday and any areas around the sides that paint had flaked off.

All that is missing is a JNC decal.

Need to find a '75 bumper soon! Then some new mounts, because as you can see the left one didn't want to come off, the stud on the other side just spins freely with the nut...So I have to figure out other means of getting it off. However it gave me a chance to finally get under everything and clean off the rear end and I really need to wash/wax the car now that it is getting warmer out. Also removed the bump stop thingies from the front bumper, chrome all across!

Snagged this from the Local PicknPull today, Starion KM132 5spd trans.
Image

Input shaft needs a wire brush and some parts cleaner to clean up the splines, but it still spins freely and very minimal side to side play. The trans shifts fine through each gear and the output shaft is still tight and spins freely. Needs a new Clutch Fork, Throwout bearing and Slave Cylinder.
Image

Trans mount and oil cooler I picked up with everything.
Image

All this plus the clutch pedal I got for the Coupe cost me just under $200 and the trans came with a year long warranty :o :tu: .

The hard part was all done for me :D! The trans and mount were sitting on the passenger seat, whoever pulled the engine didn't need the trans sot they put inside the car thankfully.

i think those mitsu nb 5spds must be well built as mine was also nice despite the miles
always had bad luck with datsun 5spds needing some sort of repair

5 lug swap if I wanted, but the narrowbodies have 4 lug which is all I need for the wagon. Basically allows for future upgrades if I want and more obtainable parts as well, you know how unpopular these cars were stateside, chances of finding a wheel hub and struts is slim to none.

Love the color!
This thing needs a good stance and slam. Love it when old wagons get the slam treatment :D

Got some work done today! Just waiting on new tie rods, ball joints, and a few other misc parts to put her back together. Strut and rotor now mounted back on the car. I will have to replace the idler arm and center link soon. None of the front bushings except the stabilizer link had any part of the bushing left . Much needed down time, plus I believe the ball joint lost the snap ring long ago, because I don't see one lol.
Image

Time to soak the control arm and some other parts in parts cleaner, before I take them to a shop to get the new bushings and ball joint pressed in.

Got some rubber mounted on the Enkeis finally yesterday. Only had these wheels sitting neatly stacked in my bedroom for several months now.

Test fitment, just the way I visualized it would look :tu:

Before I can set her back on the ground, I need to get new ball joints installed and new tie rods on, then it will be a happy JNC again. 8)
