So yet again I found myself at an American-centered car show (this time Back to the Fifties) buying vintage J-tin auto literature. I was about to buy a sweet Saab 96 spread for $4, but for some reason decided to check the Mazda section. Lo and behold, a set of Mazda Cosmo Sport posters and one blueprint, resplendent in Japanese writing, all for $15. Now, I am very (VERY) happy with the price and purchase, but it seems as if this would have gone for a lot more money on eBay. Do you guys have any idea what this thing is really worth? Here are some crappy photos but I plan on getting it scanned well in the future.

Note: these things are really big. The ruler is 24" (60cm) long.

Hi Tyler-

Wow! Nice find! What you have is a partial Cosmo L10B Portfolio that was printed around 1968 (?). These are called "Honkata" in Japan which means the best catalog printed for that particular model. The portfolio consists of 8 separate large folded sheets enclosed in a red envelope with a black sleeve over that....very elaborate! Sometime in the 1990s, they reproduced this portfolio for collectors and sold and sell now for over $100. If yours is an original, then I would guess that it is worth several hundred dollars. A fews years back, I met a man in Los Angeles (Sevenstock) and he also had three pages of the Portfolio so maybe yours is the other half?
The Toyota 2000GT also had one of these portfolios commissioned and they are worth big bucks also. They were also reproduced by Toyota in 2001 but in greater numbers than the Cosmo.
I have attached photos of my copy that I have owned for close to 30 years to give you an idea of the portfolio.

Wow, that's pretty cool! Do you know if there's any way to know whether it's new or old? To me it looks to have the wear and tear of a 40 year old brochure but otherwise I wouldn't know. The photo pages are matte finish and the blueprint is a bit glossier.
