Purchased this car on monday night and had it ready for the show on saturday. There will be more to come, but for right now I'm happy with the results. The car definately needs much more T.L.C. but it runs great and now it's definately not a ratty pile of papers and dirt on the inside. I'm hoping to make a little more progress before JCCS, but for now it's doing a good job of running back and forth to work. Hopefully you all like the progress so far.

To whoever deleted my thread looking for a heater core thank you!!! I found one locally today so I no longer needed it anyway.

Thanks for the kind words. The car is definately a blast to own.

Today was my highlight of toyota ownership though. They were holding a charity car wash and track drive at California speedway today. My dad, son, and I all piled into the wagon and decided to go for it. We got a bunch of compliments on the car, skipped the wash and went straight for the 2 lap drive around the track. We were able to get the wagon up to 90 mph and believe me it hated it, but man oh man it was fun!!! I seriously am still smiling about this adventure. After our two laps were up I asked to take a couple pictures on pit lane just to document the experience. Hope you all like them. Not sure that this is the first time a 73 Corona was on a nascar track, but it might be the first time a 73 Corona MK2 wagon was on one.

Hope you all like the pictures.

the corona all poised ready to take on the track!!!

They're Americans, they wouldn't know what to do with one if it jumped up and bit them on the backside

Seriously, looks like it came up a treat man. I like it :)

contrary to popular belief we americans know how to turn left and right. We were at the track to see the go-karts run. I just ordered my son a Tony Kart Micro. It should show up in a few weeks and then the real fun begins. Right now he's still on his little 25cc Puffo.

Toji, Sorry man I didn't even know about it til I drove by that day. I cut some length off the tailpipe of the wagon and when driving by the track saw the sign. Didn't even have a proper camera for pictures. All cell phone pics. On the way out we saw the go-karts and my son went crazy. He already has a 25c puffo, but time to upgrade. He is finally old enough to actually race so I had to get him a race capeable kart.

Datsunfreak. Yes they are the new Alicia's. I had the first set sold here and I didn't want them to look to poser so I resprayed them. They look great though and honestly I couldn't be happier with the rims. Too many people think they are real, but oh well. If they ask I wouldn't ever say they were. I corrected alot of guys at the show, but still they think they are real. Much better looking rim then the AXIS though. I originally bought them for a different car but that got sold out from under me so the ended up under this one. Not a bad deal.

Yeah, only "downside" to these and the new Shakotans is that they look EXACTLY like the real deal... :P

Correct, real ones are 14's.
The reps look pretty good though, I'm considering a set for the Scorpion :)

Right now my only plans are for a w50 swap, and then find the fuel smell in it. After that I will add a stereo system and find some missing trim pieces. Depending on how well the 4m holds up then maybe a 1jz swap, but that is still a long way away. For now it runs very well and looks good enough. I've got too many other cars to really invest too much effort into this one. I honestly didn't expect to like it as much as I do. I was working on an old van before this one and now the van has taken a back seat to it.

But it does serve very well as a parts runner and hauler for my Go-kart, hopefull the roof rack will be big enough for my sons cart when it arrives. :tu:

I think I do. I'll dig through my books and if I do I'll scan it.
