Give me at least a month to enjoy it first !

Im not happy with the gear box, it has a slight crunch in third...im replacing it with a 5 speed in a couple of weeks..

The muffler hangs a little bit too low , im fixing that up the week after next. few little teething problems and she will be a sweet ride.

If i sell it, i wont know what to do? build another car or have a break?

You must be kidding Dave, right ? You just finished building the ultimate factory looking 323 and you're going to part with it without enjoying it for at least 10minutes !

It looks like you prefer owning wrecks than good cars

You will probably be the same John, you will want to start on something else once your done...simply because you can and your capable!

I knew for a while now that this 323 is going to be an awesome finished project, but still I was wow'd with how it looks.
Great build, great car and a great guy.
Personally I wouldn't be able to part with such a beauty if it was me, but I understand your reasoning. Please, if you do another build, share it as well.

Regards,

Thanks I consider this car my apprenticeship ! Knowing me I'll probably use it for a few months then bury it at the back of the garage because of a new project. Im keeping an eye out on a couple of 12a coupe wrecks that are save able, my current project has taught me nothing  I already have some unique ideas for that particular future Rx3 12a project that Im keen to build. Still sticking with the factorish looking theme. I'll do things a little different next time.

I know alot of people dont like and consider them ugly but Im keen to at add an Rx4 coupe to my collection. I really like the shape of the Rx4 coupes, they'd easily be my favourite old Mazda behind the Rx3. The fact they arent as popular is all the better for me :) It was actually the Rx4's that got me interested in Mazda's. An old friend that used to work at Alexander Rotary in the 80's used to own a metalic blue and silver one, yes 2 tone paint.........thats were it all started. A few other friends have owned them over those early years. The cockpit dash, wide hips, aggressive front end and decent overall size.... what more could you want from a Japanese muscle car !

So whats next for you ?

Id like an Rx4 coupe, or an 808 coupe.

I also love wide body 1300s, i used to have a quick one with 12a bridgeport a while ago...i also wouldnt mind making a replica of my capella Rx2 that got writen off 5 years ago.

Mate, that series 4 RX2 is beautiful......bring on the replica!! What colour is that car? Shame about the ending of it. My Rotor Rolla ended with the same fate. It is heart breaking when shit like that happens......

NOS lights look good!!

Whatever you decide to do, I'm sure it will be a thread worth following.
I heard that the little Mazda 1300 makes very nice rotary cars.

Your tail lights already looks nice, why the new ones? Also, are the smaller tail lights still available, as new, in AUS?

mr daihatsu, why do you say its unloved?

323s are rather popular...have a look in new zealand, these cars are very popular, and many have been rebuilt ,restored and fitted with rotaries, and here in australia there is plenty with rotaries, some even tubbed drag cars....

here you go, heres some pics!!!

And someone (maybe you) posted it in 323 owners thread http://www.ausrotary.com/viewtopic.php? ... pg#p616373 (2005)
