Ill be keeping this 808 wheel in the car...they are the same as savanna rx3, apart from the horn pad, and people ask big money for them...it took me a while to find. ive always loved this wheel....they suit any early mazda and look the part.

Good Choice. And yes, it does suit the car very well.

If it's hard for you to get hold of one, I will probably never get hold of one. We didn't even get RX3's here. The rotary models that we received were very limited.

Just for interest sake, what Clutch slave cylinder are you using? On my car I'm using a slave cylinder from a FWD 323. The shaft is long enough and the holes line up perfectly with the gearbox (FC gearbox)

Regards

loving that 5 dial dash!
I so want one for my car

the car is looking a treat with the new interior
is that a moulded carpet? or a custom job?

what was the cost of the seats?
i was looking at getting some cobra classics for mine,
however the re-trim does look very good.

very inspiring

Bruce

The carpet is copied off the original carpet..so its in two or three peices.

The whole interior...roof lining, seats, carpet, boot area, pillar trims and wheel arch trims cost me $2500 all up.

Bruce, I have had good work done at Kedron Motor Trimmers, complete seat retrim and rebuild on an old Mitsubishi 8 seater last century and more recently some repair work done on the 1300, redoing the top of the rear seat with vinyl colour match to the original.

Hi Dave, good to see that this thing is nearly finished. I've just bought another one, flat front 4 door, will be putting all of my bits into it and getting back to the 2 door another day as it doesn't need as much work. Do you still have the 2 door you bought? Just registered on here, will be getting my RX2 back on the road in a couple of months after 4 years so I'll start a thread. Hope you are well. Cheers, Marty.

Trim work looks unreal. Really suits the theme of the rest of the car. Must say that the steering wheel is certainly the finishing touch to a fantastic build!!

Bring on the final pics and video :D

marty i sold the two door...i just didnt want to start on another 323....i may be getting a jap spec series 4 rx2 coupe soon, which a friend of mine owns ,which is still sitting in japan.

ill decide when it gets here if ill buy it or not, so far ive only seen photos.

Ive still got that ariel you wanted, and lots of spares for 323s if you need anything.

Thanks Dave. I have had a bit of a change of plans- the 2 door will probably be built up as a track only car, fully stripped interior, WRX seats with cage and harnesses, custom fibreglass dash, no heater etc. I'm keen to build it for hill climbs, sprints, a bit of all motor drags and such. The reason for this is that the interior was just too stuffed to use and being a 2 door it will be a pain to use as a daily with the kids. I've got a good mate up here who is a gun fabricator and is keen to build up a track car so he will more than likely help me. So unless the new 4 door needs an aerial I'll pass on it for now. You will hear from me later in the year when I get the 4 door if I need any parts! Shame when you left Ausrota, your posts were always interesting but good to see you're on here. Cheers, Marty.
