I've been looking around for a pair of yellow headlights or lense covers for my inboard headlights on the wagon

something like this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-VW-S ... ccessories

or these:

Anyone know where to get something like this from the US or the UK? I've been hunting around the net and can't seem to find a site to order them from (I don't think those BMW/VW lights will fit my car either, thats why I haven't bought them)

Basically I want something like an old Lucas or Marchal or Cibie light.

If you have any junkyards nearby that cater to European cars, there's always the early to mid-80s Mercedes fog lights?

They fit most all cars that use standard 5.75" high beams. :tu:

Used them in a 510 I had awhile back...

Hmmm I may have to order some from Euro land.
There's no merc's here with yellow headlights, they're illegal.

cheers for the heads up though.

Or you can do like what I did to mine, find yourself a candy yellow spray can, prep the high beams by cleaning them thoroughly and lightly scuff them with red scotch brite (although I don't know if that actually did anything to the surface since the glass is hard) and spray away! I find 2 coats is more perfect for them. This is the result:

I have that for a few months and they still held up fine. No chips or anything yet.

I bought some yellow tint spray off ebay.
That had a real rich yellow colour to it.

Probably easier, and cheaper than searching around the world for a set of yellow lights :)

Try going to a Michael's or one of those art & craft stores and buy a spray can of yellow stained glass window paint by krylon. It works well, I used it on a friend's headlights and the results were excellent. Plus, it's cheaper than the Japanese Vans spray can.

Clever! How does it hold up to daily use?

I used Lamin-X on my car. Easy to apply and pretty thick. It have survived two Norwegian winters, no problems. No pictures, as it's a German car.

It looks a lot like the stuff i used, Lamin-X. A lot of it on ebay, or on the link I posted right over here somewhere.

i just got it from someone selling on the net locally. can't go wrong with the price as the whole sheet cost me less than USD10. i just had to do the cut outs. i even helped some friends with theirs and the whole sheet can cover 20 plus lenses. i think these are similar to the ones used on street signs.

Yeah I used the Krylon Glass Stain paint and I think it looks filthy ,
I'd recommend using the stain because it's easy and cheap
