A Japanese friend sent me this pic of what looks like a Mazda R100 decaying in a field, but it has 3 rear lights just wondering if anyone knows of any mazda the came with 3 rear lights as factory (maybe it is an experimental model) or is this an after market job.

Definitely a home hack job.... the rear wheel arch is also a give away.

I'm thinking it was some sort of popular mod back in the day as this is the third such R100/Familia I've seen with six lights. Looks really dumb.

Well, I can kind of see the dash in the picture. It'd be neat to see it closer up. But it's not a huge deal!

The blog says it could be a prototype RX-85
I've no idea if the RX-85 had 6 tail lights!

Poor little R1! Damn that rear bumper looks pretty neat still! My R100 definitely doesn't have that, looks terrible.

What does the decal/sticker say under the left hand side lights?

btw you can easily tell that the extra lights are dodgy home made shit, the metal trim panel doesn't go around them...

I can read Japanese but I can't make out all of the writing on the sticker but the first word is "マツダ" (matsuda) Mazda I have enlarge the pic but still can't quite make it out. I know that this doesn't help much but there you go
