Hey! How do i identify my engine?

So, i got a 929 H,T -75 and i am not sure of what engine i got, so how do i identify my engine. I know there are a few different models MA VC and so on..

what does the plack on the firewall say?
1800ccm=vc
2000ccm=MA(pice of crap engine)

Hey mate,
Providing the engine hasn't been changed to a later series motor, then the VC or MA is cast into the block below number 1 spark plug.

And why is the MA a piece of crap engine?
I thought there were people that preffered that engine..
Well i dont yet know what engine i have got in my 929, will go down to the garage tomorrow..

the last one i had only lasted 2months before the piston came through the head. it has a very wierd torque curve, and doesnt seeme to be comfortable at any given rev. so i went rotary instead, and so far im loving it

hey ease up on the poor old MA mazda people!!

Wait until that old chook cooker goes bang!!

Too be honest with you, after many Mazda piston engines(owned 300+) haven't had a blow out like that, granted the head gaskets were a common problem but again I've found poor quality coolant never helps.

It's not that I don't like the rotary but it doesn't have the same machining tolerances when things go bad, usually time for another housing, rotor ,etc

its still cheaper(and easier) than fixing a piston engine that has gone wrong. and rotarys are sooooo much more fun!
the MA is almost like a diesel engine x(

Well so i have been quite busy with other things so the Mazda has not been prioritized but at last i got the head off the engine now and im about to order a new head gasket, i if i recall correctly i got the vc engine, it has the square exhaustports, the Ma engine has round ones right?

Some MA have square ports, some have round ports.

I quite like my MA engine by the way. Any engine can go with a bang, no need to dismiss them all
