I've had some ideas on it for a while, and I know 1600GT tried to get it off the ground.

I was looking at the possibility of doing one next year (this year for me has Nissan Datsun Nationals at Easter, Roadster Nationals in june and Bay to Birdwood) , I started doing the ground work and I'm pretty close to securing a sponsor i reckon...... but I ain't thinking about it until much later this year....

yep GBG, sure did try to get it going. u'd remember it well too. i just went thru the wrong channels as it turned out, so i gave up.

1600GT knows who I am, and that i am keen as hell to have this event in melbourne.

I agree with the properly promoted/organised = properly attended.

we need to make it somewhere in the southeast so i can try to get four or five cars there of my own...

undercover parking would be nice in the event of inclement weather...

A date should be set sometime soon if possible to allow for people to prepare.

can we nominate a representative from each jap marque that we want represented and have a commitee style meeting in a month or so?

Hi to all reading the end of this thread that has nothing to do with hanging rock anymore...

due to the likelihood of a Jap only event being held towards the end of the year,

I'd like to put an open invite to all Jap Nostalgics to tag along to the Toyota Car Club Australia VIC Coffee runs once a month.

basically a park and chat, 830-1030 on the third sunday of the month. locations changing month to month.

we have been getting on average 15-20 classic toyotas and a couple of non toyotas of interest too each meet.

so bring a Jap Nostalgic (your partner, and ruggrats if you want),TCCAV will provide a limited amount of donuts, buy yourself a coffee, and appreciate fine automobiles.

Not a huge community but I think they'd be keen (if I was in Melbourne I'd be keen!)

Also of note would be old colts in oz and Mitsubishi car club aust (who I think are more aimed at modern mitsu) but I'm sure both sites operators are on here.
