It's from that movie, Miata Summer.

Thanks for posting the photos, TG. I love the commercial vehicles... feels like I'm getting a little slice of Japanese life. :tu:

I don't know what takes the cake for FUGLY... the Fiat Multiplia or the Mazda Carol.

That Skyline hatchback gets a very close, second place. A 4 door hatchback Skyline?? I hope that designer got fired from the Nissan team. Talk about tacky. :td:

Hey, the Nissan van is a Nissan Caravan, and that weird SUV looking thing is a Nissan Rasheen.

The unknown Honda is a late model Life.

Nice shots, always great when folk share their travels. Thanks!

Suzuki Mighty boy. Awesome little beasts, I've had a couple.

The thing on the back of the Toyota Flatbed is the same as the Toyota you posted about 5 photo's down from it.

The cars sure seem different these days there. I was there back in 2000, over in higashimatsuyama. THere were evos and gtrs quite abundeant back then. A place down the street always had 3 evos parked out in front of it, then down farther there was some all out eg drag car. I gotyta say the newer cars are much more bleh than they use to be. My first ride in japan was in a wagon r, it was pmpin.

It sounds like Japan is a lot like us in that regard. When sports cars were trendy, they were everywhere. Now "green" cars ar what's in, so you're going to see a lot more boring appliances. :(

Lot's of things come into play. What I take pictures of versus what you may take pictures of is probably completely different. I like a lot of the new cars, especially the kei cars. Also, it's 10 years later and cars have simply changed. So have people's buying and driving trends. A lot of young people in Japan are opting not to buy a car. Everywhere in Japan, but especially in big cities, it's easy to get around by train, subway or bus - why spend money on a car if other transportation is readily available. Times change, cars change .... who knows what we'll be seeing in the next 10 years

awesome thread... went slow over all photos (I never see anyhting japan related)

the sambar vw van, hilarious.

behind the mr2 is a face in the house window.. look close.

the cycle here is about 3 years, you can guess where the older j-tin ends up sooner than later. My own at 1987 sube could be one of the oldest daily driven japanese in the state, all year round.

from my time at my current place since 2007 to today.. a different realm of machines. the cars parked next to me left and right areon their second and third...

I am stubborn about an old sube. I like seeing the classics being kept up anyplace. good influence, great photos.

Great pics!
The scooter is a Honda Super Cub, used everywhere for everything here, haha.

Image

And the final Nissan is a Nissan Rasheen. I had a girlfriend who had one of these once, haha.

Great pictures, sounds like you had fun! Next time you come you'll have to figure out where to spot an LFA at, a truly amazing car, haha!

Cheers
David
