1974 Mazda RX-4 Wagon

Total time capsule!

The 13B got a mild street port, header and about 6 mufflers

it made 188hp/165tq
The interior was in great shape, even the hatch area was impressive!

Racing Beat!

We commuted to work in the RX today, 98 miles round trip.
I am very impressed with the car!
-It is surprisingly quiet and smooth at freeway speeds
-85mph at 4500 rpm in 4th gear was our cruising speed
-everything works! Even the redline/shift buzzer!!!
-the gauges have a cool green lighting
-I think the dash layout was ahead of it's time
-I don't think it gets good mileage and its consumes oil, but is fun!

Looks like you were at Jimmy's picnic in this picture. I saw your RX4 on CL a while back I'm guessing you're the one who picked this up. Glad to see a classic rotary in the Bay Area. There are alot of us here, but were all spread out. Hopefully one of these days there will be a N.Cal classic rotary meet. See you around!

I giggled at the fuel and oil comment.

if fuel economy is really really bad, change the plugs and make sure you have a clean air filter inside that racing beat ufo thing.

otherwise, cruise the thing till the wheels fall off, rotaries are so much fun.
