I got the beast running. All i had to do was clean the points and carb out and put a battery on it! I heart japanese cars  Ill have to do a fair amount more in order to get it road worthy but this is a huge deal to me!

heres the link to my video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3I8ImrJNPLo

Here are some before and after pics of some of the seat backing. Doesnt look great but doesnt look as ghetto as it did. obviously.

I found out that there was a leak in through the hatch seal via ruined carpet, so i siliconed the ish out of it. Im gonna put a black rubber mat in the cargo area since its going to be a hauler.

I chopped the springs a bit too much this morning and as you can tell its too low in the front lol. Theres only about 3 inches of ground clearance so Im gonna make some 1.5 inch spring spacers tomorrow to get it back up in the air a bit. The rear will get done as soon as I get the front like I want it.

Looking nice! Have you considered moondiscs? Just a suggestion for a smooth old school look similar to your wheel covers. I hadn't thought of it until I saw this from LowCrown:

id really like a set of baby moon hubcaps for it. But these stock wheels are so damn small i dont know if they would look right. I really wish I could find 3 more 85-88 cressida spares at some junk yards then I would be set.

Yea white walls would be sick but I already have a used set of black walls that are the right size that I found laying around one of our buildings. Im still going to search for the cressida spares but for now Im going to try and find a whole set of 15's with the right bolt pattern to powder coat off white and throw on there at the junk yard. I think it will look better sitting on the bigger wheels, the right color while im trying to find a permanent set of shoes.

made some spacers out of scrap pipes and 1/8" sheetmetal to bring the front up. heres the spacer and a new pic of the car with them in. The front end settled down a bit after i drove it around a bit so it looks lower in the front now than in the pic. Very driveable now.

Yup, those spares are hard to find. It took me about 6 months to track down a full set. I eventually bought a second cressida to complete the set... Not really, I bought the second cressida cause it was a factory 5 speed and cheap. Definitely go with an off white, would look killer. I have my eye on one of those wagons just down the street from me. Missing a back window and has some major rust holes in the fenders. Other than that, it is in good shape. Hope to be in a position to save it one day. Good luck with the build.

Yea man I say def get the wagon! And rust isnt a big deal if you have a little bit of fabricating experience and a welder.

Hopefully I will find 3 more soon but these old japanese cars and parts for them arent easy to come by here in NC lol.

not bad. if you really want to get detailed you should take the center caps and get them repainted with the Toyota emblem
