Had some time to work on the car yesterday. Had some more fun removing paint and doing some body work. Guest star Norcal510 was also in attendance haha

Image

Mr. Hako/Kenmeri man looking very diligent

Image

pass side quarter is almost ready, just needs one ding repaired and some work on the lower part by the wheel wheel that somehow got hit by something?

Image

artwork done by myself while taking a break from getting my dual action sanding on. sticker courtesy of the box my s13 throwout bearing came from...friend decided it would manage to find its way upside down on the car? also this trunk is not being repaired and is getting replaced. just awaiting me to get some guts to remove the chrome trim and glass.

Image

driver quarter is almost done as well, needs a little more TLC before etching primer.

Image

more artwork inspired by break time

Image

door panel got some body hammering and slight thin bondo action

till next time!

yes we did spend some time on the Z today after i got off from work at a semi decent time..only one hour OT today.

Image

turned the zed into sonic the hedgehog to rid her of some dents.

Image

nasty dent...dunno how some of these occured..but whatever. man the horrible over spray from the horrible paint job that was on the car when i bought it..masking paper and tape anyone?

Image

replacement driver fender getting some massaging as well. the current one has some weird dents and ripples and i decided it wasn't worth the work fixing when i had this one laying around

Image

bottom needed some help..had some fun with the stud gun

Image

norcal510 getting his hammer on, very meticulously

Image

i became a man and decided to cut out a section that had some tiny holes..we figured it would become a problem later down the road if ignored

Image

it was pretty cold and kept getting metal shrapnel in my face lol

Image

TADA! brake duct in progress..lol jk

Image

nasty cancer trying to spread itself

Image

dinosaur poo..or old seam sealer

Image

had fun, still learning a lot as i go. work seems to be calming down a little so i have the energy to get back at it. hopefully more updates soon!

Get it on the interwebs? A lot of the hot rod guys buy from a place called Southern Poly. They swear by it.

here are some recent pics to supplement what norcal510 took

Image

moving the zed around so i can weld the rear easily, aka i need to buy a proper welder extension cord or make one..

Image

still trying to move with all the cars in the way, u can see norcal510 dad's firechicken that made its way over

Image

in emotional/physical pain from dealing with rust/dents

finally got some days off to work on the Z...its been a while

Image

all the siblings together..jealous of the Z inside lol

Image

popped the windshield out to see if there was any rust...and there was haha, not too bad and nothing major thankfully

Image

cleaaaan

Image

just need a little more tlc and will be good to go

Image

yes that is a bottle of metal ready haha

Image

this hood is going bye bye if someone wants to buy it..got some rot in the front, and is being replaced with another one shortly

Image

slaving away with more sanding action..whoo hoo..found out i had more rust on this sides lower rocker panel...so im going to cut out just replace both of them

Image

mooorrreee work

Image

hello im back again so dust doesnt go flying into the car

Image

going to be tackling this awful mess tomorrow..it was covered in SUPER amounts of bondo..wtf

Image

while i was picking up my other hood from being sand blasted i noticed some race miatas in the parking lot, pretty coool

Image

mmmm mazdas

Image

to work on my rear panel i have to pull the gas tank out, which needed to be done anyways

Image

a lot better looking inside than what i thought it would be

Image

going down!

Image

OMG IM DIRTY!!

Image

no rust above, just a bunch of scary spider webs

well i forgot to take pictures of the finished roof and pillars as well as my blasted hood. will post those up later.

in looking back through what ive done so far ive decided after cutting a few holes in the pass side floor..and doing a really crappy job welding pieces..that i am just going to replace the whole floor. im spending this much time on this and want to do it right. along with the floor i also have to replace a section of the frame rail directly under the batt tray too. all this will be tackled once i finish getting some primer/paint on the car.

till next time!
