I haven't thought much about color, I did think about doing the BRE colors but might be way overdone.

With those flares, it NEEDS a BRE paint job. 8)

And if you fear "overdone", I do have the decals to make the #68 paint scheme? :tu:

Adding to this in a slight segway, why not make the ute a parts ute for some BRE race cars? ie pop a tool chest and some bits and pieces in the tray and coat in BRE colours. Sorted!

BRE colours would be great, although a 720 is out of their era really, isn't it?

Something like the electromotive zeds or such may be more era appropriate (even 300zx IMSA) , but any of the iconic Nissan/Datsun schemes would be awesome.

I reckon you should carve the 'spats' on the rear wheelarches back a little, as I did with my Aoshima Hilux which is moulded in much the same fashion...warning repost

If you look at those pics, the 'spats' moulded in would otherwise cover most or all of the tyre sidewall, just like the 720.

I got the engine permanently mounted, and plumbed. This bay is 99% scratch built...I only used the kit radiator. The rest is all me

I messed up a little with the fuel line plumbing. When I ran the fuel lines, I didn't realized that I used the schematic for the SU carbs...the Mikuni's didn't have a return line. Not too happy with the oil filter lines...the attachment points are not as neat as I wanted them to be. But overall, I'm pretty happy with how she's turned out so far

Thanks for looking.

Jimmy

I have been in a slump lately, I can't seem to get something finished. I thought I would work through it, but that hasn't happened lately. Of course, this is one of the busy seasons at work so that has a lot to do with it... no free time to speak of really. That thing is looking sweet Jimmy!!

Actually, I believe that the only thing the 'Tuner' kit is missing are the decals for the BRE version. I will have to check my kit again, but I believe that is all that is missing. Trying desperately to make some TE37Vs for it out of some extra Aoshima 19 inch TE37s Hayashi streets look really good on those as well.

It's missing more than just the decals.

It's missing one whole tree of parts that contains: racing seat, roll cage, fire extinguisher, flat steel dash, BRE exhaust with "megaphone" tip, cut down Corvette radiator, and oil cooler.

It's also missing the grey tubing supplied to make oil cooler lines, and it has different tires. "Tuner" kit has nice 1-piece rubber street tires (that are smaller) instead of the wide 2-piece plastic-y Goodyear Blue Streak race tires in the BRE kit.

All the missing bits can be fairly easily fabbed if you are a semi-experienced builder, though. :tu:

Those look great! Especially love the Longchamps on the RX-7. I purchase those 15 inchers everytime I find them. Have two more sets coming from HLJ. I think they fill out most fenders much better than the Aoshima 14 inchers
