Spotted this at the San Diego Zoo.
Anyone have an idea what it is? I can't seem to find that emblem in any searches I do.

If it was made in the last 6-8 years, chances are better it's from China. All of the newer ones seem to be coming from there now.

Thought it was a Kia Bongo. Then again, the badge could've been put on by the importer of said truck for sale here under the now closed loophole of importing said trucks as Farm Equipment.

Easier to list what it's not :

Daihatsu
Daewoo
Tata
Ssangyong
Baolong
Chery
Great Wall Motor
Haima
Jiangnan
Shuanghuan
Zhongxing

One problem in telling what it is, is that even major brands in Japan now have sub-line/dealer badges. Like Toyota has it's Netz dealers, and the front emblem is the Netz one. A couple good Toyota examples are the new Axio Corolla:
Image
And our RAV4, I ordered the Netz badge and put it on:

I'm trying to recall which vehicle that is, because I remember seeing the badge in Japan.

IIRC. Ssayong doesn't even make/didn't make Kei trucks.

Would like the Chairman W, but damn those 25 Year Old Importation Laws.....

I'm thinking it's a safe bet to say it's a hyundai or a kia. Definatly has the korean "ring" to it.

Other thoughts would be a Mitsubishi or Hindustan Motor Co.

definitely not any japanese kei. Looks real cheap so probably chinese, possibly korean. I just looked at the newer kei trucks offered in japan and non line up. Definitely not a mitsu.

Most newer kei trucks from japan have a low front spoiler ground effect looking front end. THe ones before that just dont look anything like theyr etarded smiley it has.

In fact, just found it.

Brand is FAW CA1010 mini truck: aka chinese pos if you ask me.

down the page a bit. The zoo would have been much better off buying some used kei from jdm land imo...

Frankly even korea makes better looking cars hehe.

Yep, that's it! I knew someone would be able to come up with something! Thanks!

It's a zoo! They LOVE animals! More likely banged up from running down visitors that are wandering down roads they don't belong on.

Nice! So China's doing the same sub-line badging as well. I has looked at FAW before, but there main emblem is different:

Nice specs also, depending on the version (there are 2) it's either an 870cc with 38hp and a 90kph top speed or 970cc with 45hp and a 100kph top speed. Gotta love the Kei trucks!... Though that one's ugly, nothing beats the classic Suzuki Carry:

Too bad they aren't doing it well at all. Out of the five only 1 was pretty decent. But I got to see the one I took the pic of above in action. It and another were out drifting at the drift comp we went to see.

The Bedford Rascal is the Suzuki Carry rebadged. I remember watching that Fifth Gear, funny as hell, but all of Fifth Gear I find annoying. I have to agree Top Gear is WAY better!
But I did like watching that episode, it was good to see Phil Morrison on it. I liked watching him at Snetterton in the D1GB and when he went against the Japanese when the D1GP came to Silverstone. At Snetterton he always had a nice long smoky, sideways exit on the 100mph curve!

My wife and I spotted one of these at a industrial machine dealership on the side of I-5 (around Chehalis WA, PAP'E dealer? Cant remember). Anyway, it was kind of an odd sight and looked like it had license plates.
