OK so I went to clean up the interior parts but they were knicked up pretty good and had dirt ground into the plastic that would not come clean no matter what I used. So not being a fan of the brownish silver anyways I went and picked up some silver paint with about the same brightness as the original interior. I also picked up some vinal paint and some gloss and satin black.
I went to town on all the interior this weekend except for the center consol. It needs alot of cleaning and there are cigarette burns/melt marks in the tray under the ebrake handle I have to figure out how to fix.

Heres some pics.

This is the top pad from the center consol.. it use to have green nail polish all over it.

After painting the silver I had to mask off and paint in the holes this was very time consuming, and although the pics look good I may have to do this piece again

After completely taking the dash apart it and painting it here is how it looks altogether with freshly painted parts.

And here is everything

Nice fab work there. Your body shop looks like it knows what its doing when they're making rails from scratch.

The dash plastics are actually a platinum soft gold colour rather than silver but it still came up alright.

Any other updates?

Still keen for tail lights?

Here's another coupe i just got before new years: http://www.performanceforums.com/forums ... t=67262565

Same colour as yours (paint code D8) but rolled out of Hiroshima with a 4 cyl not a rotary. Will have a rotary in it on the weekend 8)

Yeah aaron I am still interested in the lights.
Also I do have updates, the car is home and the metal work has been finished now I am just putting the interior together and refurbishing it.

I didnt like the gold color on the dash and wierd enough the roof console was already silver instead of gold so I went with it.

Nice find in Canada! Most of ours seemed to be the piston powered cars that got scrapped years ago. Progress is impressive so far.

Thanks, yeah from what I have heard basically a guy drove it from the states and was headin to alaska and broke down in 1980 and never returned for his car.

Other updates.. I got my 2 MSD 6A's today and my dell 48 should be here tomorrow.

Anyone have any info on changing out the points setup and putting in some msd's on a FB elec distributor?

good to see some progress.

IMO don't put the MSD anywhere near your car. Just upgrade to an RX7 distrubutor and *if you really must* wire it for dual leading coils. The modification and variations of it are covered in detail on Ausrotary.

Stock motor demands a stock carby. Especially since you're in cold climate I'd be wanting something with an effective choke on it.

Facebook updates suggest this is driving?
