Hey guys, Ive been lurking on here for a little while now. I just recently purchased the '73 240z so its motivated me to get on here and post my ongoing projects. Im hoping I will be able to keep up with the thread and update it accordingly. Anyway here are the cars.

First up is my '72 510. This from the get go was for auto-x and maybe the occasional road race. I picked it up from Kentucky about 3 years ago. Ive done Arizona Z car wilwood brake setup (yeah overkill but I dont care) with coilovers from Techno Toy tuning. I fitted Z flares and wider wheels and tires on it as well. It has a L20 with the side drafts and a dog leg 5 speed tranny. This year was the first outting with the car for auto-x, had a blast but developed a water leak. Since then I have been working on new hoses for not only the coolant system but fuel as well. My friend as been fabricating some fuel line, so far they look great. Future plans will hopefully be a VG30, that will all depend on how far I go with the Z.

The day after I got it.

Now.

The 240Z is my main concern right now, I love having a nice street car. So that will be my plan for it. The previous owners did a L28E swap with the side drafts (wish it was EFI)and the 5 speed. As for everything else it seems stock. Here soon though I will be putting it up on jackstands and beginning work. Some pics.

Thanks, yes they are ZG Flares, yes I cut the flares so I could still use the backdoors if needed. 0 offset on the XXRs, yeah the red was an accident really, thats all they had available at the time. But I ran with it, kinda made it a hot rod look.

Thanks, Not really sure... I change my mind about everyday. As for now brakes and suspension. I might do some things to the l28 but im not sure. Im coming from a 900hp Cobra so I could see me getting the itch for power. If thats the case maybe a swap. Then a part of me says nah keep it 'somewhat' original.

Ahh! But crappy Datto EFI is easier to convert to MS&S than crappy finicky un-tuneable side drafts!

Hi
what size wheels (& backspacing) and tires did you end up running on your 510?

also, do you have any close up photos of the rear door and flares, I am curious on how you had to trim the flares to get them to fit around or on the doors.

thanks

16x8 with a 0 offset which gives it a 4.5inch backspacing. I went with Toyo r888's (245-50 I think). I will have to get some pictures of the flares for you sometime. Right now the car is at a friends house so it is not readily available for pics.

If your tuner can't tune sidedrafts properly he's fucking useless, find another one :P
What's MS&S?

Little update, hopefully Ill have more pics up here soon. Sold the 240z  and bought my grandpa's Alfa Romeo GTV6. After I get the GTV6 going I really hope to get a 240z again or another JDM nostalgic car! Anyway, Ive been preparing for an engine swap in the 510. Just recently took out the L20b and transmission last week. Ill get those pics up here soon. Now its all about prepping the engine bay and new motor. I was originally going to go with a VG30, but after owning a SC frontier I decided it would be fun to put in a VG33ER. After some searching, I found my motor/donor truck at a local boneyard. I feel pretty lucky with this place being 5 minutes from my house, finding these Supercharged Frontiers around here seems rare. So i quickly jumped on it.
