is there a breakerless ignition that can be retrofitted to a chain drive 4g32 motor?

You could do pertronix. According to this it should fit.

Or try adapting something off a later mitsu electronic ignition.

There isnt a bolt in electronic dizzy as far as i know though. I dont think the 4g37 will bolt in.

You find them quite often on older datsuns. I had something similar to this on my 240z, but it was some other sort of ignition setup.

I checked on that link and contacted streetsideauto, was planning to get one but had second thoughts when I found out that there's a no return policy on it once installed.

I have a Pertronix Flamethrower setup on my MGB and I love it. :tu: Someone told me that leaving your key in the ignition will drain your battery very quickly, though, once installed.

might be correct, I seem to remember my coil getting very hot without the car running and the ignition on.

that's what i'm afraid of, or worse..if it won't work with my stock dizzy and I'd be stuck with it.

Yup, I did call them a couple of months ago. They asked for the code stamped on the dizzy, gave it to them & they said that they don't have any to match it.

I bought an electronic distributor from mallory made for 4g32 awhile back
i check the part number for who wants it.

i think your engine is a belt driven 4g32

Originally it was belt type, I changed it to Saturn chain type its much better. The part number is 3763501

Depending which dizzy your car has the ignition from an early Montero will fit in.
